Resident Evil Requiem has been out for about two weeks now, and it's already proving to be hugely successful. Considering how popular it is Resident Evil franchise is that it is not too shocking. However, the new chapter surprised many fans with its bold lore decisions. It was a risky move on director Koshi Nakanishi's part, but it turned out to be well worth it. Resident Evil Requiem is one of the strongest stories the franchise has seen in a while, and many are already wanting more.

In classical Resident Evil fashion, RequiemThe story ends on a massive cliffhanger that leaves players wondering what's next for characters like Leon, Grace and Sherry. It seems like Grace's story is pretty well rounded, though Resident Evil RequiemThe ending made it clear that Leon still has plenty of gas left in the tank when it comes to more stories starring the beloved roundhouse kicker. The game's finale has already sparked plenty of theories that will hopefully be addressed in the upcoming DLC.

Major spoilers ahead too Resident Evil Requiem.

Leaks and rumors about Resident Evil Requiem's DLC are now in the spotlight

There were already expectations for an expansion earlier Requiem even launched, but it has now become a reality. Director Koshi Nakanishi recently took to social media to announce that a Resident Evil Requiem DLC is in development. He didn't give any insight into when players can expect the expansion to be released, but official confirmation that it's on the way is exciting enough for now. Before the DLC is complete, Nakanishi also confirmed that two major updates will be coming Requiem in the near future:

These two features are scheduled to arrive in May. In addition to that, Nakanishi will hopefully share details about the DLC around that time as well. Only time will tell, but there have already been some exciting leaks and rumors that could make for an exciting one Resident Evil Requiem expansion.

Leon and Chris seem destined to reunite

At the end of RequiemGrace and Leon are rescued by Chris Redfield's Hound Wolf Squad. Unfortunately, Chris is nowhere to be found, but the agent who finds Grace and Leon in the ARK crowds says, “I have a message from Captain Redfield.” Players never get to hear what this message is, but it's possible he's turning to Leon to help with the BSAA. Now that Leon has Elpis, bioweapons can be made obsolete. The BSAA was originally established to stop bioterrorism, but Resident Evil VillageThe ending reveals that the organization has been corrupted and is using the bioweapon itself. An expansion where Chris and Leon team up to take down the BSAA bioweapon with Elpis is definitely not impossible. Chris Redfield in Requiem feels like more than just simple fan service, so it wouldn't be too surprising to see him return fully in the DLC.

Alyssa Ashcroft could take center stage

Alyssa is an integral part of Resident Evil Requiems story, but she's only in the game for a short period of time before meeting her abrupt and heartbreaking end. Her background and connection to Oswell Spencer is a wild revelation that adds a deeper layer to Grace's story. It's very possible that Alyssa's story is tied up, but well-known leaker Dusk Golem thinks there may be more to come. The leaker said in a recent tweet, “I've heard rumblings from one RE9 DLC starring Alyssa herself.” An Alyssa Ashcroft DLC for Resident Evil Requiem would likely be more stealth-focused, like Grace's episode.

What's the deal with Zeno and The Connections?

It is now known that Zeno was one of the highest ranking members of The Connections. This organization has been one of the most mysterious additions to Resident Evil lore since first appearing in Resident Evil 7. Requiem brought to light some of the biggest insights into the crime syndicate to date, and there are hopefully more to come. At the end of the game, Zeno injects himself with Elpis, not knowing that it is actually a bioweapon cure. This turns Zeno back into a human, and Victor Gideon quickly decapitates him. Zeno is now seemingly gone for good, but it may not be that simple.

IN Requiems post-credit scenes, people who are likely Connections soldiers infiltrate the ARK's rubble. A dead BSAA agent is on the ground, with a soldier saying, “Remaining BSAA forces have been neutralized. Retrieving the target before sending in the wolves.” There are many questions about what this “goal” might be. It is possible that it could be another Oswell Spencer project. However, another theory is that it is Zeno's body or head. Although he is technically dead, The Connections may have the ability to revive him somehow. Requiem also hints at him being an Albert Wesker clone, which would be perfect for a DLC to address.

If Zeno were to return, or The Connections were the main antagonist in some way, this could also be another situation that would allow for a reunion of Chris and Leon as they try to take down the organization. This may even set the stage for Ada Wong's return. It's not hard to imagine a scenario where she and Leon are on separate missions to infiltrate the group, only to run into each other again.

Based on concept art and glimpses of Leon's hand in the post-credit scenes, many fans are convinced that he is married. The main theories point to Ada Wong or Claire Redfield, so it would be interesting if the DLC addressed this.

The Resident Evil Requiem DLC has a lot of ground to cover

As well as Resident Evil RequiemThe story is that there are many unanswered questions that will hopefully be addressed soon. Resident Evil is notorious for leaving some story threads hanging for a long time. Next head Resident Evil match after Requiem probably won't be finished until 2030, so it would be good for the expansion to give fans more answers. There is also the possibility to Requiem get more than one DLC. That would be the best case scenario, but only time will tell. Until Capcom is ready to officially announce what the DLC is based on, there are sure to be even more rumors and leaks throughout the year.
