All Characters And Their Stats In Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

If you’re any good at racing games like Sonic Racing: Crossroads, then you’ll know that the difference between winning and losing can all come down to choosing characters whose primary stats gel with your individual playstyle. Sure, you could choose your favorite character, but what are their stats?

Sonic Fans’ Biggest Takeaway From The CrossWorlds Beta Is That It’s Terrfiying To Be In First Place

There are more than just blue shells coming for the race leaders in CrossWorlds.

You’ve got access to 23 racers by default, all pals from the Sonic universe, with more on the way in DLC to add other forms of these characters or even familiar faces from the greater list of Sega IPs. With five stats to factor in, here’s how to choose your best racer.

How To Choose A Racer

Information about Metal Sonic as a rival in Sonic Racing CrossWorlds.

While there’s merit to seeing your favorite Sonic characters dashing across gorgeous raceways in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, if you’re aiming to take the top spot and beat some of the toughest rivals in the game out on the track, you’d do well to learn which driving stat you lean on most in other iconic racing games.

Like plenty of other iconic racers, we’ve got five main stats per character, which you can see at a glance in the parameters menu. This shows you not only their base stats, but how high their stats can be optimized with careful use of the right gadgets on your plate each race. The five stats you’ll need to consider when choosing a character in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds are:

  • Speed, which gives a hint toward how fast your character can possibly be when driving in optimal conditions.

    • Sonic, Shadow, and Blaze are tied for the fastest characters in the game.
  • Acceleration tells you how quickly you’ll take off when you put the pedal to the metal and start to drive.

    • Tails, unsurprisingly, has the best acceleration stat.
  • Handling is all about how much steering control you’ve got, especially when it comes to drifting.

    • Amy and Silver are both good picks for characters with good Handling.
  • Power factors in a character’s weight, with heavier characters able to bump lighter ones out of the way.

    • Omega and Zavok are the most powerful racers in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
  • Boost, how fast you can go after an exterior force helps your character pick up some traction and get going even faster for a moment.

    • Knuckles, Vector, and the infamous Dr. Eggman have the same Boost stat, making them the quickest characters off items and boosts.

There’s no right or wrong way to play, since which stat is most important is completely subjective and is decided by your own playstyle. If you know you’re a racing game veteran who can handle a fast character, opting for Speed would be the way to go. If you need help with your traction, opt for Handling above all.

See what feels best for you and pick a character with high stats in this category. You can safely experiment with different characters throughout your time playing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and change your driver on the main menu whenever you’d like to try something new.

Use The Gadget Plate To Change Stats

No matter which characters you’re using or how you’ve chosen to use them, be sure you’re routinely customizing your Gadget Plates as you keep playing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. By default, you’ll only have a few slots and not many Gadgets to choose from to put in there, but keep playing – new Gadgets unlock as you compete more races.

There are plenty of ways to use the different Gadgets in the game, but one good idea is using Gadgets to make up for low-level skills that would otherwise hamper your progress in a race. For example, if you’re using a Power character, you might want to use Gadgets to add Speed, a stat you’re noticeably lacking compared to other types of players.

Conversely, you can also use your Gadget Plate to double down on stats your characters are good at, making them ultra-fast or super strong by way of Gadgets that change their stats. No matter how you choose to play, there’s something on the Gadget Plate in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds that will change the way your chosen character drives out on your favorite courses.

You can add up to two stat boost Gadgets for each stat to any given Gadget Plate, allowing you to either double-up on a few specific stats in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, or to add a variety of stat boosts to your Machine for the next races ahead.

You could even make custom stat change Gadget Plates for certain courses, too. For example, if you’re about to head into White Space, a track that requires a lot of Handling to navigate, using a Handling-based Gadget Plate may be a good idea.
