Aldi divides shoppers with Brazilian style cheese bread

A $6 Aldi item is attracting attention on social media and has left shoppers disagreeing about whether it’s worth advertising.

Aldi has launched the Urban Eats Brazilian Style Cheese Bread 450g for $5.99 as part of the German supermarket’s limited time period.

Cassidy was a TikTok user who spotted the Brazilian-style cheese bread, which has been in stores since April and is gluten-free, in Aldi.

“You’re telling me this has been sitting in the freezer aisle at Aldi this whole time and I didn’t know,” Cassidy said.

“Today was the first time I looked in the freezer.”

Cassidy cooked the Brazilian Cheese Bread in her air fryer and declared that for a gluten-free product it was “really good” and labeled the cheese inside: “very chewy.”

Meanwhile TikTok user @foodstuffthings said: “These Brazilian cheese breads from Aldi Australia are a new favorite for us!”

“They may not look the prettiest but my goodness they are addictive! Look at that cheese,” the user added.

They likened the decadent treat to a savory, cheesy mochi.

However, other social media users had mixed reviews of the product.

“Yes, the best,” one person praised, while another added: “yummm love them.”

Others were not so impressed.

“I hated them until I was told to put salt on them,” one person commented.

“They’re not nice,” said one, while another added: “Gray, they’re not nice.”

Aldi shopping expert Kylie Warnke said the Limited Time Only range was a “fantastic way” to introduce some product innovations and bring back items customers have loved.

“With ready meals, fresh meal kits and frozen heroes, this curated range has been developed with customers in mind, to make cooking easier throughout the week with convenient, high-quality options,” he said.
