This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf Arc.
Eiichiro Oda is currently exploring the Final Saga of One Piecebecause the Straw Hat Pirates are in the Land of the Giants, also known as Warland Elbaf. This story arc has been absolutely incredible so far, and fans know it will continue to excite those who Oda reveals key information from the Loki flashback.
Say hello to the strongest ability in one piece
There are many overpowered abilities in One Piece, but this one stands out as the strongest.
After years of waiting, the Loki flashback gave fans a proper look at Rock's D. Xebec, something everyone has been eagerly awaiting since his first mention some 6 years ago. Oda even went on to show the events of the God Valley incident to the fans, which came as another surprise to everyone. This event revealed tons of key details to fans about individuals like Imu, and more importantly, it also went on to confirm the most powerful pirate in the entire world. While most believed that Rocks was the strongest pirate, after God Valley, it is quite clear that Gol D. Roger went on to surpass him. Roger was nowhere near his peak in God Valleyand on top of that, he still continued to damage the Domi Reversi'd Rocks, which are much stronger than the actual Rocks, and have an immortal body.
One Piece's strongest pirate is Gol D. Roger

Roger and Garp beat Rocks

Roger got stronger after God Valley
Most fans of One Piece thought Rocks D. Xebec was the strongest pirate, not including the pirates that existed during the Void Century and fans know very little about. Rock's D. Xebec was certainly strong and he even had an entire era named after him. His strength was absolutely enormous and he even killed an admiral with quite ease. However, Rocks wasn't the strongest in all of modern One Piece history. The fact is that Roger went on to surpass him. This is clear from the story, which was shown to the fans Roger and Garp battle the Domi Reversi'd Rocks.
For those who don't remember, Domi Reversi offers three things to users:
-
It offers an immortal body
-
It provides significant strength
-
It drives them crazy
It is a fact that The Rocks that fought Roger and Garp were much stronger than the real Rocks D. Xebec. Domi Reversi also increased the Haki of Rocks, considering that Conqueror's Haki grows stronger as the user grows in power.
Follow me and I'll show you what's on top of the world. — Rocks D. Xebec to the Rocks Pirates
Despite that, Roger's strongest technique, that is Kagutsuchi: Acewas strong enough to penetrate Rock's heightened Haki. In other words, Roger's normal attacks would have damaged the regular Rocks. To take things a step further, the story clearly states that Roger was not at his best during the God Valley Incident. Around the time of God Valley, Roger was a respectable pirate, but he was not a great pirate. He went on to achieve this title later, and he held it about 26 years ago, which is when he was at his strongest.
Roger became King of the Pirates
Just a few years later, Roger went on to become The Pirate King and was recognized as the strongest and greatest pirate. His legacy remains intact to this day. Of course, that's not to say that Rocks wasn't strong or that he couldn't be compared to Roger. He's still a beast, but Roger was absolutely no weaker than him, and that's supported by canon facts from the manga.
It's time to welcome the next Gol D. Roger in one piece
Roger's successor has been revealed, and it's not Luffy in One Piece.
Do you want my treasure? Find it if you want it! I left it in that place! — Gol D. Roger, One Piece
Joy Boy was probably the strongest from the old era
Roger was most likely the strongest pirate in modern times, with Rocks and Whitebeard coming closest to his throne. But during the Void Century Joy Boy was probably the strongest. He was the first pirate, as explained by Oda in the Egghead arc, and his Haki was clearly shown to be absolutely majestic. This was Joy Boy's strongest Haki and it caused pain even to Imu. This suggests that Joy Boy himself was a monster.
Hopefully, fans will see more of Joy Boy in the futureas well as Roger before the great age of piracy beganall the way to his execution.
