Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are hosting this year's Snake Mass Outbreak Event

Summary

  • Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are hosting a Mass Outbreak with increased Shiny Encounter odds until January 1st.

  • Trainers can expect Silicobra, Ekans and Seviper to appear in greater numbers during the event.

  • The future of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in 2025 is still uncertain with the upcoming Year of the Snake.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers have a new event to participate in as a mass outbreak of Silicobra, Ekans and Seviper has started in honor of the Year of the Snake. The Snakelike Mass Outbreak event will be ongoing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for one weekend only, but trainers will have increased odds of encountering Shiny versions of each featured Pokémon.

The latest mass eruption began just a few days after Pokemon Scarlet and Violet hosting a Shiny Rayquaza Tera raid event to end 2024. Although Sky High Pokémon can usually be found in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after purchasing the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC and progressing in The Indigo Disk, the rarity of the Shiny variant made the Tera raid battle a valuable opportunity to easily capture it. Although Rayquaza's weakness to Fairy Pokémon made the Tera raid an easy encounter, the Shiny Rayquaza event was a fitting bookend to Year of the Dragon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
