KFC has opened a new restaurant called Saucy that focuses on sauces and dips, but its only location is in Orlando, Florida for now. Saucy's color scheme and concept is very different from KFC's traditional.
Kentucky Fried Chicken, otherwise known as KFC, was first founded by Harland “Colonel” Sanders in 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Since then, the grocery chain has transformed into one of the largest fried chicken franchises in the world. KFC's Colonel Sanders himself features in the company's red and white logo, which is recognizable from any distance. KFC's menu consists mainly of fried chicken products branded with its iconic 11-spice recipe. The franchise is also known for its brand message of family and sharing. However, it seems that KFC is trying its luck with a new concept and a brand new restaurant.

Other mascots that should join Colonel Sanders in Funko Fusion
Funko Fusion has brought KFC's Colonel Sanders along for its wild multiversal adventure, but he shouldn't be the only mascot to join.
On December 23, KFC began testing its new restaurant “Saucy” in Orlando, Florida. As the name suggests, Saucy's main focus is sauces and dips. The restaurant offers a total of 11 sauces, a nod to KFC's 11-spice chicken. Among the dips available are names like Jalapeno Pesto Ranch and Thai Sweet'N Spicy. Saucy's menu isn't limited to dips, however, as it also offers chicken tenders, fries, coleslaw and more. But unlike KFC, Saucy's logo and decorations are bright pink. Additionally, in an interview with CNN, KFC revealed that Saucy's target audience is Gen Z, a public more interested in bold flavors. With Saucy, KFC intends to adapt to the latest industry trends. The restaurant currently only has one location, but it could expand to other U.S. cities if Saucy's concept proves popular.

Saucy's interior also carries its bold and loud concept with pink and orange decorations. Fans can dine in or take their orders home at the drive-thru. Although it's only been days since Saucy opened, the venue is already a hit with internet users, with content creators sharing videos of their orders on platforms like TikTok, YouTube and Reddit. It is common for grocery chains to introduce new concepts or products gradually to test the waters. Earlier in December, Subway debuted foot-long nachos at select locations in the US and Canada. Similarly, McDonald's launched a limited edition Chicken Big Mac through a major marketing campaign with Twitch streamer Kai Cenat.
If Saucy is successful, KFC may see an opportunity to expand its competition in the US. Of course, KFC is very popular globally as well and has launched collaborations and products exclusive to other countries. For example, KFC Spain launched a Chicken Tamagotchi while KFC China launched an exclusive Genshin Impact toy line.
