Final Fantasy 14 lead battle content designer Masaki Nakagawa recently commented on the potential for a Monster Hunter Wilds cooperation. The popular MMORPG previously collaborated with Monster Hunter Worldleading many fans to hope that Final Fantasy 14 developers are willing to work with Capcom again to bring fans more new content.

In 2018, Square Enix and Capcom announced and launched a crossover between Final Fantasy 14 and Monster Hunter World with free co-op content in both games. Final Fantasy 14 players banded together to take on Monster Hunters Rathalos in a special mission, while Monster Hunter World players worked together to hunt Final Fantasy Behemoth. Completing these missions would unlock rewards like a Palico minion Final Fantasy 14 and Dragoon armor in Monster Hunter World. The content was well received by fans at the time, with some wondering about another Monster Hunter cooperation would happen since the 2021s Monster Hunter Rise not cooperated with Final Fantasy 14.

The developers of Final Fantasy 14 are fans of Monster Hunter series, and they would love to work on one Monster Hunter Wilds crossover if the opportunity arises, according to a Gamesradar+ interview with Final Fantasy 14'pp lead battle content designer Masaki Nakagawa. However, Nakagawa notes that the team will do their best to enjoy themselves Monster Hunter Wilds first before proceeding with the steps required to make the collaboration happen. Nakagawa also stated that the game designer who handled the combat content for Monster Hunter World collab is still motivated and has some ideas about what they want to do “next time.”

It is clear that Final Fantasy 14 developers are hopeful to work again with Capcom, but fans will likely have to wait until after the release of Monster Hunter Wilds before anything official can be announced.
