One Pieceas a story, contains so many characters that it is difficult to keep track. From the residents of Orange Town in East Blue to the kids in Punk Hazard, all the way to the various groups scattered across the land of Wano, sometimes it can be difficult to keep track of each character at each point in the story. Because of this, unfortunately, sometimes, characters like One Piece the fanbase that thought would be important is instead left behind and forgotten.

But sometimes, integrated characters that were once extremely important to the story of One Piece has also been forgotten. One character in particular has had the fanbase up in arms, with many believing they deserved much better. This character, Carrot, felt like an honorary member of the Straw Hat crew but was left behind by the story faster than anyone else.

The carrot was first introduced to the story after the events of Dressrosa, during One Piece's Zou Arc. Part of the Minx tribe, Carrot is a young, rabbit-humanoid and member of Duke Dogstrom's Musketeer Squad. Because of this, she has quite significant combat abilities and can hold her own against strong opponents.

But as the Straw Hats left Zou for One Piece's Whole Cake Island, Carrot secretly joined the Sanji Retrieval Team, following his idol, Pedro. From here, Carrot was an important member of the Straw Hat team, helping to save the group on several occasions. Also, even after Whole Cake Island, Carrot continued to help the Straw Hats during their time in the land of Wano.

But after all that One Piece Minx, Carrot, made for the crew, at the end of the Wano Arc the Straw Hats left her behind without so much as a goodbye. Despite saying goodbye to Kin'emon and Momonosuke, Carrot doesn't even get a thank you for the time and effort she put in. For many, this was a disappointing send-off for a character many considered an honorary member of the Straw Hat crew.

This is especially disappointing because of the amount that Carrot did during his adventures. Without the carrot awakening her Sulong form, the Straw Hats could have easily been caught off One Piece Emperor, great mother. Also, during Whole Cake Island, Carrot saw her mentor and idol, Pedro, sacrifice himself to give the rest of the group a better chance to escape. From the amount of physical and emotional trauma Carrot went through during his time with the Straw Hats, a simple goodbye would have gone a long way.

Even outside of the story, Carrot has been with the Straw Hat team for a significant portion of reality and has slowly become one of the fanbase's most beloved characters. Since her introduction in 2015, Carrot has been with the crew for over half a decade. Seeing such an important character disappear without another interaction with the Straw Hats feels like a disservice to fans.

Anime gives a non-canon farewell

Even though I didn't get a canon send-off in the manga, i One Piece anime, Carrot actually got a proper goodbye during a filler episode at the end of Wano. But despite this moment, many fans are still saddened by the character's flawed send-off, which explains her need to explore the seas already fulfilled by her Straw Hat adventures. Farewell to the Straw Hats or not, Carrot returns to the Minx tribe to become the new leader of the group, finally ending her career as a pirate.

In the end, it is sad to see such a beloved character left behind by the world of the world One Piece. While Carrot joining the Straw Hats would probably be a step too far, seeing a better ending to the character's story as we know it would have been a lot to satisfy fans. But the story of One Piece is not over yet. Carrot still has plenty of time to return and give fans the satisfying send-off they wanted.
