A Pokemon TCG Pocket Promo Event seems to be a matter of when, not if

The Pokemon TCG Pocket the craze is in full swing, as the game reached over 30 million downloads across all mobile platforms, thanks in part to the game's promotions and events. The latest features the ever-beloved Normal Pokemon Meowth, with event duels giving players a chance to acquire powerful EX Lapras copies. Such events not only attract players, they keep them engaged in the game. It's only a matter of time before it promotes one of its most popular 'mons' to bring in new players and keep current ones checking in.

The game still provides a satisfying combat experience, despite having simpler mechanics compared to the actual card game. Like the real thing, however, the main draw is off TCG pocket seems to draw the strongest and/or prettiest cards. Now that Pikachu. Mewtwo, Gen. 1 starters and Meowth have had their share of the spotlight, there's one more Pokemon the game could promote to gain even more mainstream appeal.

Eevee seems to be an inevitable event feature in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Eeveelutions consistently rank high in official popularity rankings. A Gamewith survey, published in December 2023, found Sylveon, the Fairy-type Eeveelution, to be the fourth most popular Pokémon in Japan. Eevee is also ranked fourth in the Kanto region in the latest Pokemon of the Year results. Also in the 2024 community-run polls ir/Pokemon, Eevee ranks fifth, just behind their Dark-type evolution Umbreon.

Eevolutions has some of the most collectable card artwork

While Eevee is fairly easy to obtain for hobbyists, its evolution is more difficult to obtain. The rare Eeveelution cards in Pokemon TCG often has beautiful artwork by highly regarded artists as well. A good example is the Holofoil Flareon, which artist Kyoko Umemoto painted with bright orange and yellow hues against a cold and dreary background of a grassy field at night.

Some Eeveelution cards are highly prized because they are nearly impossible to obtain, such as the Umbreon Gold Star, which came from a limited edition pack that was only distributed from March to September 2009. Create cards that look similar to Eeveelutions in Pokemon TCG Pocket would be appreciated by longtime collectors and new players alike.

Pokemon TCG Pocket can roll out remaining Eeveelutions as event cards

Eeveelutions definitely deserve to appear on Booster Packs, and this sentiment is supported by the fact that the IRL TCG recently released the Prismatic Evolution expansion with them. Pokemon TCG Pocket could give popular Eeveelutions like Umbreon and Sylveon their own packs and give them immersive highlight cards. The game can take it a step further and create deck accessory art with the remaining Eeveelutions. Having a complete Eevee family on a playmat would be nice to see. Even PROMO or Battle Event Cards with alternate art of existing in-game Eeveelutions would surely be a hit with avid collectors.

The current Eeveelutions deck is ranked at the bottom (or not ranked at all) by most Pokemon TCG Pocket Genetic Apex Deck Tier Lists. However, that may change when stronger animals like Sylveon are introduced into Dex. As such, competitive players should adjust their expectations accordingly once the Eevee events occur.
