All July 2026 Free Games You Can Claim

Updated on July 29, 2026, by Mark Sammut: For the final time, July’s free games lineup has been updated (although the blurb with links to the freebies will continue to be updated until the 31st and beyond).

The month nears its end, bringing to a close a couple of weeks overflowing with free PC games. Although maybe not packed with too many major AAA giveaways, July has been fairly giving in this area, with Steam, Epic Games Store, Amazon Prime Gaming, Itch, and IndieGala all handing out notable free-to-keep games. As long as you acted quickly, you probably expanded your library by 10 or 20 titles across an array of genres, from horror to strategy and action.

Console users have also had a pretty good month, with both PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass welcoming their fair share of big names. The former’s Extra lineup included Rise of the Ronin and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora; meanwhile, Game Pass added Halo: Campaign Evolved, Shift at Midnight, and Hell is Us. Although not technically free, these announcements scratch the same itch.

While the text is updated a few times per week, the free games blurb below updates automatically whenever a new freebie becomes available.

Yet Another Zombie Defense HD

Steam doesn’t typically hand out extremely well-known games, but Yet Another Zombie Defense HD is one of the more recognizable freebies of the month. That’s not saying much, and we are still talking about a small indie game that has been around since 2017. That said, Yet Another Zombie Defense HD is a solid top-down shooter that is particularly fun in co-op.

Epic Games Store Giveaways

Foretales

Epic Games Store’s weekly free games are the most reliable giveaways in gaming, and the last week of July contains a deck-builder that very much seeks to provide a digital tabletop experience. Foretales is designed around repeat playthroughs, as you won’t be able to complete the protagonist’s goal in one run.

Amazon Luna (Requires Amazon Prime Membership)

Free Games For GOG, Epic Games Store, and Amazon Games

Amazon Prime Gaming, aka Amazon Luna, is arguably the best source for free PC games, as the store seems to always have more than a dozen giveaways available. As long as a subscriber has an Amazon Prime account, they can claim these freebies, which are redeemable across a range of platforms, like the Epic Games Store and GOG. Although most are relatively small titles, Amazon Prime Gaming frequently hands out big names, even if they might be a few years old.

In July 2026, you could claim these games: Survival: Fountain of Youth, Paradise Killer, Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered, G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra, and Sugardew Island, although those have now expired. The giveaways all end on different days, so I recommend checking the lineup often to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Once you claim a game through Amazon Luna, it is yours – no Amazon Prime or Amazon Luna subscription required to play.

Alienware Giveaway (Steam)

Dwarven Realms

While not that common, sites like Lenovo and Alienware occasionally hand out free games, which typically require signing up for an account. In this case, Alienware is handing out keys for Dwarven Realms, an action RPG that incorporates roguelike survival elements. Besides creating/logging into your Alienware Arena, you need 10 Arena Reward Points to claim the game, which can be earned through daily logins, quests, and a few other methods.

Itch.io

Free Indie Games That Might Not Be On Steam

Although not garnering as much attention as Steam or the Epic Games Store, Itch.io regularly gives away free games as well. Designed entirely to promote indie creators, these freebies are always small titles that would otherwise not garner too much attention.

The indie game has 16 levels and is designed to be quite challenging. The concept’s spirit lines up with something like Untitled Goose Game​​​​​.

Game Pass games added to another tier will be listed alongside completely new arrivals. If you see a title that is already on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, that means it has joined the Premium tier.

Xbox Free Game Bonus: Tell Me Why

Consoles don’t typically hand out completely free games, but Xbox owners can currently add Dontnod’s Tell Me Why to their libraries. Microsoft hasn’t revealed when this giveaway will end; at least I couldn’t find that information, so I recommend picking it up as quickly as possible. The game is free on PC until July 1, so it could be the same on Xbox.
