Ubisoft has quietly released an update for Assassin's Creed Black Flag resync which in some cases removes one of the most hated traits in someone Assassin's Creed games in recent years. Of course, this is mostly a visual thing, so fans shouldn't expect any major changes to the game Assassin's Creed Black Flag resync until Ubisoft releases some major updates for it.
Still, it's good to know that Ubisoft is keen to support Assassin's Creed Black Flag resync with the little things. Not only has it been a critical and commercial success for Ubisoft, but it's also potentially a blockbuster. Fans obviously like 99% of the game, but meeting the 1% can make a real difference, and that difference can lead to better sentiment around the AC IP heading into the next mainline release in Assassin's Creed Hex (to be announced in 2027).
Be gone, Cassandra Pose
All the new content in Assassin's Creed Black Flag resyncEdward Kenway will often strike it in the everyday famous Kassandra Pose, so called because of how Kassandra did it so often in Assassin's Creed Odyssey (which also partly depends on how long the game is). While it was good in that one game, it has continued to appear in almost every Ubisoft game since (not just Assassin's Creed ones) and has become somewhat noticeable and possibly immersion-breaking in each game. To be fair, it's a really awkward standing pose, but the spread of it is where fans have taken issue with it.
Now Ubisoft has at least changed one instance of Kassandra Pose Assassin's Creed Black Flag resyncif not some others, shared by The Hidden One. It's unlikely, if not impossible, that Ubisoft will remove the pose from the entire game, but it's worth noting that Kenway remains awkward in these scenes because of how they are. As The Hidden One also notes, Kenway looks a little creepy because fans aren't used to seeing him with robotic movements, even in AC Black Flag Resyncedother cutscenes.
The Hidden One, as well as many fans, urge Ubisoft to continue the work and make these cutscenes stand out as they could. This doesn't mark the end of the Kassandra Pose by any means, but perhaps Ubisoft will be more selective about its use going forward, even if it's a small detail. Many fans certainly wouldn't mind if Assassin's Creed Hex the main character Anika never hit the Kassandra stand – it's almost like how studs are now seen as “creeps”.
Regardless, it's a nice change for the beloved pirate game, and it will be interesting to see if Ubisoft can keep up the momentum AC Black Flag Resynceds massive sales up. There is no guarantee, but there is hope, and that is something.
