Spirits off Solo Leveling fans have been reawakened ever since A-1 Pictures announced that the series would finally return in 2027. The much-needed update came more than a year after the conclusion of the second season. After the announcement, fans have finally been able to relax and focus on what the film will cover. One of the things they should be excited about is the introduction of new and powerful characters. Since Jinwoo is already so overpowered, the writer has to work doubly hard to make sure the other characters are stronger in one way or another. In Solo Leveling Beyond The System, which was announced at Anime Expo 2026 on July 3, 2026, fans will have the rare opportunity to see a character who can push Sung Jinwoo.
The architect will pose a huge challenge to Sung Jinwoo
Solo Leveling: Beyond The System will likely adapt the Ahjin Guild arc and the Double Dungeon arc. Both take place sometime after the events of Jeju Island. The Architect will not appear in the Ahjin Guild arc, but rather in the Double Dungeon arc. He is responsible for creating the system, so he can answer any questions Jinwoo may have. However, the architect won't just give away the answers so easily. Instead, he will ask Jinwoo to fight the stone statues that are in the room.
I will protect my family even if it means turning every hunter in the world against me. —Sung Jinwoo
For most, that would be a big ask, especially since the same statues almost killed Jinwoo in the previous encounter. But the hero's mentality is exactly why he managed to survive despite such terrible odds. The rematch between Jinwoo and the statues will be one-sided, but this time the protagonist will have the advantage. After destroying them, Jinwoo must face the Architect himself, and it is then that the latter will show the hero that there is a huge gap between them.
Thomas Andre will appear in Solo Leveling Season 3 and prove that he is stronger than Sung Jinwoo
Although Kandiaru is a giant in his own right, he cannot be compared to someone like Thomas Andre. The latter is one of the five national-level hunters in the world, considered the crème de la crème of hunters. Every single one of the National Level Hunters has insane strength, and even though they are relatively close in terms of power, it is generally accepted that Thomas Andre is a cut above the rest.
Thomas Andre is ranked as the #1 Hunter in the entire world, which means there is no one else who comes close to him in terms of overall strength. He already made a brief cameo in the anime, but he didn't get involved in any serious action. In fact, many fans theorized what would have happened if Thomas Andre had gone to fight the ants on Jeju Island. Given his insane strength, it would have been a bloodbath. Thomas Andre would not have needed any kind of backup. He could have just gone in and exterminated every single ant, including Beru.
Who is that character?

Thomas Andre not only had tremendous physical strength, he also had some special abilities, one of which was Capture. This special power allowed Thomas Andre to telekinetically pull objects towards himself. It might not seem like much on the surface, but it effectively prevents his opponent from escaping. Jinwoo wouldn't have been able to counter the capture if he didn't have the ruler.
The source of Thomas Andre's strength will be revealed in Solo Leveling next season
Thomas Andre is no ordinary person. He derives his strength from the rulers, and without them he would not have reached such a high level. At the same time, the rulers don't just choose any random person. They knew about Thomas Andre's struggle and how he spent his life fighting to survive. When the gates and magical beasts began to appear, Thomas Andre jumped at the opportunity, and that's when the rulers gave him some of their power.
With the newfound strength, Thomas Andre and those like him took down Kamish, who is widely considered to be the greatest threat to humanity. The magical dragon wiped out the S-rank Hunters like they were nobody. It's fair to say that if the National Level Hunters hadn't banded together, the entire world would have been wiped out.
After their exploits, all the National Level Hunters became widely known for their strength, and they received VIP treatment wherever they went. In fact, many of them received benefits that a normal person could not even think of. Much of the time, entire countries had no choice but to bend to the will of these hunters.
When will Sung Jinwoo surpass Thomas Andre in Solo Leveling?
For a significant portion of history, Sung Jinwoo was inferior to Thomas Andre in terms of strength. The National Level Hunter would have crushed his opponent every time before the crisis in Japan. However, Jinwoo surpassed Thomas Andre in the Japan Crisis arc.
Thomas Andre and Sung Jinwoo fought for the first time in the International Guild Conference Arc. Surprisingly, neither of them had any intention of harming each other. The fight only happened because of Hwang Dongsoo, who kidnapped and brutally assaulted Jinho. When Jinwoo tracked him down, the result was obvious. He beat Hwang Dongsoo within an inch of his life, but Thomas Andre arrived before the hero could finish him off.
If the pain doesn't kill me, it will almost make me stronger. – Jinwoo
Thomas Andre asked Jinwoo to back off and leave Hwang to him. However, Jinwoo refused to do so, and it resulted in an all-out brawl between two of the strongest hunters in the world. Shockingly, Jinwoo dominated the fight from the start. Thomas Andre even used reinforcements in an attempt to crush Jinwoo, but it was to no avail. The latter was far too powerful for him, and he crushed Thomas Andre without trying too hard.
Despite being crushed by Jinwoo, Thomas Andre had no hard feelings towards him. In fact, the two met again after Thomas had recovered from his injuries. Furthermore, the National Level Hunter even gave Jinwoo new blades as a sign of goodwill. It's also worth mentioning that Thomas Andre's role is not limited to the International Guild Conference Arc. Behemoth is involved in several other arcs, so fans will have the opportunity to see him in action again.
