Last chance to get super rare Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have one last chance to get a unique, very rare Pokemon before it's gone forever on July 17th. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is nearly four years old and will officially enter its fifth year since launch in November 2026. Nevertheless, Pokemon winds and waves was revealed last Pokemon Day for a secret release in 2027, so they could come around five years after Gen 9. For quite some time, Gen 9 has been in maintenance mode with minimal updates, but now there are several new events to look forward to.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet announced new Summer 2026 events just a few days ago, including a new Tera Raid for a special Magikarp and several mass outbreaks for both the base game and DLCs. For those who have been absent from Gen 9 or are starting their adventures now, this is a good time to return Pokemon Scarlet and Violet before Gen 10 comes out in 2027.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players only have three days to get exclusive Pokemon

Pokemon Scarlet and Violets Hisuian starter Tera Raids started on June 25th and will come to an end on July 17th, when the last of them, the Hisuian Samurott with the most powerful mark, will forever leave the game. Since January of this year, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has hosted a weekly event for every starter in the series up to and including Hisuian starters, all available in 7-Star Tera Raids with the most powerful badge, which is only available on Pokemon caught during this event. While this is not the first time this event has been hosted, it was confirmed that it will be the last, so Hisuian Samurott will not be returning after it runs again on July 17th. For those who have yet to catch Hisuian Samurott from the 7-Star Tera Raids, this is officially the last time to do so, as the event ends at 15:59.

Unfortunately, Hisuian Decidueye and Hisuian Typhlosion are no longer available with their most powerful mark. It's also worth noting that this is the only way to get Hisuian starters Pokemon Scarlet and Violet built in, as players would normally only be able to transfer the base forms to Pokemon Legends: Arceusevolve them there and carry them back to Gen 9. For those looking to get Hisuian Samurott now some of the best counters for that in the 7-Star Tera Raid are Miraidon, Meowscarada and Clodsire. Miraidon deals excellent damage with electric moves and can heal itself. Meowscarada has Protean to become a pure Grass type and uses Nasty Plot to boost her Special Attack and then Giga Drain for damage and healing. Clodsire is good for Water Absorb, and it can use Acid Spray to lower Hisuian Samurott's special defense.

Bellibolt can also work in this raid, and so can other Pokemon, like Breloom, though Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Miraidon is one of the best Pokemon in the game for Tera Raids and even VGC battles. As for Meowscarada, it would logically be next in rotation for a 7-star Tera Raid appearance after Hisuian Samurott, but with the announcement of Magikarp Raids this week, it's unclear if and when the Gen 9 starters will return.

July 2026 is a huge month for Pokémon games across the board. Between super rare Pokemon from Pokémon GO10th anniversary and lots of freebies from Pokemon Unitefans can make the most of their time in multiple games this month.
