Fans of Silent Hill: Downpour can look forward to experiencing some cut content from the game thanks to the work of a player. This effort will also yield Silent Hill: Downpour to computers.
Silent Hill: Downpour was one of the last games the series saw before going into a long sleep. 2012 was a busy year for the franchise and releases Silent Hill: Downpour, Silent Hill: Book of Memoriesand Silent Hill HD Collectionwith the three experiencing varying levels of success. Apart from the release of PTthe game series went completely dormant after that until 2024, with the launch of Silent Hill 2 remake.
Silent Hill Downpour comes to PC with new content
Now a fan named Indie_RU has revealed that they are working on getting Silent Hill: Downpour to PC. The game never saw an official PC release, making this an exciting moment for fans of the series, but this version also restores content that was cut from the game but still hidden in the files. The finished version will reportedly restore deleted cutscenes, dialogue, side missions and a boss fight against the Monocle Man. The boss fight in particular could be exciting for fans of the game, as a trailer for Rain shower back in the day showed glimpses of the fight, but the fight was nowhere to be found at retail.

Unfortunately, the PC port isn't out yet, with a planned release in either September or October 2026. Considering the game is over 14 years old now, chances are fans won't mind waiting a little longer to finally experience the cut content. Silent Hill: Downpour originally released only for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, although many others in the franchise were released for PC and even some Nintendo systems. As a result, there are many players who probably never had a chance to try Rain showerso this PC port might open up one of the older games to some newer fans.
While anything is possible, it is likely that this will be the only port that Silent Hill: Downpour sees, officially or otherwise, at least for the foreseeable future. While a remake of the original Silent Hill is currently under development, Rain shower received mixed reviews at launch, and Konami has only ported or remastered a few games in the overall franchise. On top of that, Rain shower developer Vatra Games was shut down just months after the game was released.
Building on plans to turn around Silent Hill to an annual release franchise, new game Silent Hill: Townfall will be released around the same time as Rain showers PC port. Players will be able to experience the new title from September 24, and the like Rain showerthe title is being worked on by a non-Japanese developer, with Scottish studio Screen Burn Interactive taking the reins this time around. If it can live up to the success of Silent Hill b and that Silent Hill 2 remake remains to be seen, but survival horror fans have plenty of new and upcoming releases to keep them busy Silent Hill.
