Instead of wielding a sword, Sung Jinwoo's weapons of choice are sharp daggers imbued with deadly status-affecting effects in Solo Leveling. This dangerous weapon is better suited to Sung Jinwoo's fighting style, as daggers allow him to maximize his speed and effortlessly perform lethal attacks at close range, such as maiming.

Solo leveling: 8 strongest swordsmen, ranked
With every swing of their mighty blades, these swordsmen show why they rank among the strongest in Solo Leveling.
Daggers are not exclusive to Sung Jinwoo's use, as some of the most powerful hunters in Solo Leveling, especially in the killer class, primarily rely on daggers for active combat. Just like Jinwoo, they prefer to use daggers instead of swords or other blades because they match their fighting styles perfectly. Most importantly, daggers allow them to fight at their absolute best.

Han Song-Yi chose daggers to create his own path
At one point in Solo LevelingSung Jinwoo saw himself in the E-rank hunter, Han Song-Yi, who lacks the talent, skill and magical power to thrive in dungeon raids despite having more than enough passion and courage to survive. With his low-level E-rank status, Jinwoo knows that Han Song-Yi is as good as food for magical beasts inside the dungeon, especially in high-level ones.
On the contrary, Han Song-Yi is portrayed as a decent assassin, at least in Solo Leveling: Arise game. Despite having the lowest hunter rank possible, Han Song-Yi is capable enough to survive on his own with his abilities. She aims to follow in Jinwoo's footsteps, armed with deadly daggers and throwing knives, which she can unleash against magical beasts and prove that she belongs on the battlefield.

Lee Chuljin's dagger almost tears Jinwoo's neck
Among the dagger users on this list, Lee Chuljin made the most serious mistake, as his decent hunting skills didn't count for much after he foolishly threatened Sung Jinwoo. He was a C-level hunter working with Hwang Dongsuk, hunting down unsuspecting hunters under the dungeons until he met his tragic end at the hands of the newly awakened Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling Season 1's Dungeon and Lizards Arc.
Although Lee Chuljin's courage and bravery in trying to kill Sung Jinwoo beforehand was commendable, he never stood a chance against the Shadow Monarch's newly acquired strength. However, if Jinwoo had remained an E-rank hunter, Lee Chujin could have had no problem killing him in the dungeon.

Kang Taeshik's twin daggers were built for murder
The Korean Hunters Association (KHA) has a sadistic and ruthless dagger user in Kang Taeshik. Armed with a pair of deadly daggers known as “Unstoppable Frenzy” i Solo Leveling: Arise Kang Taeshik mercilessly targets unsuspecting hunters and rehabilitators to satisfy his itchy desire to kill.
As a B-rank assassin and member of the KHA, Kang Taeshik had little or no difficulty racking up the number of victims without getting caught. Along with his stealth ability, Kang Taeshik's daggers have been stained with blood for years. He was even exceptional enough to push Jinwoo to evolve while dealing with Joohee and Song Chiyul at the same time.

Baruka's dagger skills nearly exhausted Jinwoo
When a Red Gate transported Jinwoo into the icy domain of the Ice Elves, Baruka emerged as the formidable leader of the cold-blooded tribe. Not only was Baruka intelligent and capable of communication, but he was also very skilled with daggers, which allowed him to overwhelm Jinwoo and Igris at the same time. He was so strong that he almost drained Jinwoo's mana reserves during their intense confrontation.
At that time, Baruka used a silver dagger, which Sung Jinwoo eventually acquired as a drop in Solo Leveling Season 2. This is the fourth strongest weapon in Jinwoo's collection, capable of killing multiple magical beasts in the Demon Castle in one blow. When equipped with this dagger, Jinwoo's attack power and agility receive a huge boost.

Sung Il-Hwan showed that daggers could challenge monarchs
If there was any hunter who truly came close to Sung Jinwoo's power before his full awakening, it would be his incredibly gifted father, Sung Il-Hwan. Like Jinwoo, Sung Il-hwan's weapons of choice are daggers, instead of katanas or swords. He is extremely skilled with daggers, able to land direct attacks on the likes of Rakan while keeping Sillad busy with his exceptional skills during the Seoul Invasion by Monarchs.
It goes without saying that Sung Il-Hwan has solid sword skills. Together with a body chosen by the rulers, he became a monster on the battlefield. Had his body been durable enough to withstand the immense power bestowed upon him, Sung Il-Hwan could have been a force of nature fighting on Jinwoo's side in the final war.

Sung Suho uses Jinwoo's legendary daggers
Sung Suho is yet another overwhelmed dagger user in the Solo Leveling franchise. He became the second wielder of Kasaka's Venom Fang and Kamish's Wrath in battle, proving that he was more than worthy of following in Sung Jinwoo's great footsteps. In addition to daggers, Suho is highly skilled in the use of swords and gloves, making him a versatile fighter.
It goes without saying that Suho has immense potential, and it wouldn't be surprising if he eventually surpassed Jinwoo one day through multiple power upgrades or even awakenings. Destined for greatness from the start, he grew stronger with each step he took towards reuniting with his parents, Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In.

Sung Jinwoo is the ultimate dagger master
Apparently, Sung Jinwoo is a devoted dagger user i Solo Levelingeven though they originally fought with swords. After starting with a short sword and later brandishing Kim Sangshik's dropped blade, Jinwoo used Kasaka's Venom Fang daggers. From then on, he continued to acquire increasingly powerful daggers, including Kamish's Wrath and Antares' Fangs, and never looked back despite receiving the powerful Demon King Baran's Longsword as a drop.
After all, daggers are the ideal weapons for Sung Jinwoo's agile fighting style, allowing him to fight at high speed without sacrificing power or accuracy. Also, daggers are the best choice for melee quarters, as shown when he mercilessly maimed the Ant King with the Demon King's daggers on Jeju Island.
