Popular streamer ExtraEmily was temporarily suspended from Jerk off following an on-stream incident where the content creator nearly crashed her car. The fan-favorite Twitch creator's violation violated the site's distracted driving policy while driving a vehicle on-stream.
The Amazon-owned streaming platform has expanded far beyond its roots, with many streamers documenting their daily lives on the site. Many of Twitch's biggest talents live stream everything from traveling on vacation to smaller streams like grabbing coffee or shopping. Several top Twitch talents have embraced the platform's “IRL” category as a way to bring fans more into their lives, with some even streaming themselves driving or doing DoorDash. Now, ExtraEmily has found herself in trouble with Twitch moderation after an incident that resulted in a near crash during a Twitch stream.

Twitch issues official statement on ad controversy
Twitch shares an official response to the latest controversy surrounding changes to ads on the Amazon-owned streaming platform.
ExtraEmily was officially suspended on Twitch following an on-stream incident on June 28th. During the stream, she was driving her car and took her eyes off the road and looked at her phone to respond to Twitch chat while driving. The distracted driving resulted in her nearly crashing into a Mazda SUV approaching from the opposite direction, with the streamer narrowly avoiding a collision with the other vehicle. Neither vehicle was damaged as a result of the near-crash, but ExtraEmily received a 24-hour suspension from Twitch following the incident. ExtraEmily's ban from Twitch has since been lifted, and she was allowed to return to streaming.

ExtraEmily's incident sparked controversy among the Twitch community for the seemingly light punishment the streamer received. Despite directly violating Twitch's policies, Emily only received a 24-hour suspension from the platform and was allowed to return the next day. The incident has raised the question of whether running streams should be allowed on the platform at all, with live streaming and the ability for users to distract themselves by chatting causing major security concerns. The streamer said she had turned off her Tesla Autopilot shortly before the incident, usually driving with the feature on.
The latest incident isn't the first time ExtraEmily has found herself in hot water while running on-stream. ExtraEmily was caught running a red light during an earlier streak and didn't seem to slow down at all before blowing through the stop sign. Many fans at the time called her actions potentially dangerous to other drivers on the road and called on Twitch to impose disciplinary action as a result. The streamer was even involved in an accident while streaming in 2023, although she was not at fault for that collision.
ExtraEmily's Twitch suspension follows larger efforts to strengthen the platform's moderation policies in 2026. Twitch rolled out a new ban system in 2026, which clearly laid out a system of different bans for chat and live streaming. The platform now splits its punishments between limiting offending users' ability to speak in chat and limiting the ability to stream on Twitch. Some more serious violations of the platform's policies can even result in bans from both chat and live streaming, depending on the severity of the misconduct. Fans can only hope that ExtraEmily learns from her recent ban and prioritizes safe driving over chat.
