Sasuke Uchiha is one of the most powerful Kekkei Genkai users in the world Naruto and Boruto. At the beginning of the series, Sasuke was blessed with the power of the Sharingan in chapter #27 of Naruto. Since then, his Ocular Kekkei Genkai has become immensely powerful. In Naruto Chapter 402, Sasuke ended up awakening the power of the Mangekyou Sharingan. IN Naruto Chapter 488, he eventually gained the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. Finally, Sasuke's upgrades were topped off by awakening the Rinnegan in Naruto Chapter 674 on May 12, 2014.
Now, 12 years later in Boruto era, Sasuke's underrated Mangekyo Sharingan Kekkei Genkai is getting an official upgrade, which was much needed, especially after the loss of his Rinnegan.
The Boruto series removed Sasuke's Rinnegan Kekkei Genkai in Chapter 53 To Nerf Him
One of the biggest downgrades that Sasuke Uchiha received in the sequel came in chapter 54 of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generation series on January 20, 2021. In this chapter, Momoshiki Otsutsuki officially took over Boruto Uzumaki's body and used the little time he was given to stab Sasuke's eye. Sage of Six Paths, direct. This was done by writers Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto to heavily nerd out Sasuke Uchiha. With his Rinnegan out of the way, Sasuke lost his main source of power, as well as his Six Paths abilities with it, which was quite unfortunate for him. Since then, Sasuke has barely been in any full-fledged battles and understandably hasn't been able to fight at the same level.

When Code attacked Konoha in the subsequent arc, both Sasuke and Naruto were quite helpless as they had lost their greatest sources of power. However, three years have passed since then, and Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto have both made Sasuke stronger, even though he no longer has the Rinnegan. Due to his training with Boruto Uzumaki during the timeskip, Sasuke Uchiha has reached a much higher level of total power. This was evident in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5 on December 20, 2023, when he fought Code, an individual even stronger than Jigen, and was still able to severely injure him by removing one of his eyes from him. All of this was made possible by a significant buff in terms of overall strength, but most importantly, a boost to his Kekkei Genkai Mangekyo Sharingan as well.

After 3 years, Boruto officially sets Sasuke Uchiha's return date
Sasuke Uchiha has been absent from Boruto for three years, but his return is imminent at the end of the new arc.
Sasuke Uchiha's Mangekyo Sharingan is officially stronger than before in two blue swirls
IN Boruto: Two Blue VortexSasuke Uchiha's Mangekyo Sharingan is much stronger than before. Considering that Sasuke mainly fights with his Dojutsu and that he doesn't have the Rinnegan anymore, he puts everything he can into making his Mangekyo Sharingan as good as he can. This eye primarily improves Sasuke's reading ability in battle. The slightest movements can be seen with the Mangekyo Sharingan, and this eye also allows him to counter these threats effectively by giving him more vision.
Meanwhile, Sasuke's training allowed him to take full advantage of the Mangekyo Sharingan, which is likely why he was able to take Code's eyes from him in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5 in the first place. Primarily, Sasuke's Mangekyo Sharingan grants him two unique abilities: Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi. Both of these powers are incredibly strong and can basically take out the vast majority of enemies in a single hit. Sasuke also has the ultimate ability known as Susanoo, which he still has access to due to having awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan in both of his eyes. Combining these powers with the training he underwent, he should be much stronger than before due to his higher overall strength.
Right now, Sasuke's Mangekyo Sharingan should be able to fire larger Amaterasu and apply Shape Transformation at a much higher level. His Susanoo should be much stronger than before, given that Sasuke has strengthened himself overall. This means that, even though he doesn't have the Rinnegan anymore, he hasn't been completely weakened as a ninja. If anything, it could be argued that this version of Sasuke is even stronger than the version with the Rinnegan, despite not having the Six Paths hack anymore.

Sasuke's new power upon return will officially be greater than ever
Upon his return in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Sasuke Uchiha will likely be much stronger than ever before, including his version with the Rinnegan. This is simply based on the scaling given to us by Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto. To easily explain this, we have to look at Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter #38. In this chapter, Sasuke, along with Naruto's help, went up against Jigen in battle, but the two couldn't even land a single hit on him. Even harnessing the power of his Amenotejikara, Sasuke's sneaky punches were easily blocked by Jigen in battle. As such, the strongest version of Sasuke with the Rinnegan couldn't even scratch him.
The Code, on the other hand, is officially stated to far surpass the Jigen in terms of overall power. However, in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5, which was released on December 20, 2023, in V-Jump Issue #2, Sasuke Uchiha was able to put up a solid fight against him and even take one of his eyes from him, dealing a heavy blow and weakening him drastically. This was achieved by Sasuke without even having the Rinnegan and, on top of that, being outmatched by an army of Claw Grimes. The fact that Sasuke was able to deeply injure someone even stronger than Jigen and cause him a serious injury without even the support of Naruto Uzumaki clearly shows that he is at a much higher level of strength at the moment.

What's more, when Sasuke returns, he will have even greater upgrades lined up for him, as his sword has officially been upgraded by Sumire. On top of that, Sasuke can also get a potential buff through the Thorn Soul Bulb that he will get after Hidari is taken down. After all, Sasuke's Mangekyo Sharingan Kekkei Genkai will be on a whole other level and likely powerful enough to match the Ohirume Mangekyo Sharingan of his own daughter. This is a combo we're excited to see.
