Fable fans may have to wait a little longer to check out the new chapter after it was pushed back to early 2027, but having to sit through a few more months to make sure the game is as strong as possible is worth it. There has been a lot of anticipation surrounding it Fable. The franchise has become one of Xbox's most notable exclusives over the years, and it's been a long time since a new mainstay in the series.
The developer Playground Games has been working hard on the project, but Fable has been delayed several times now. It has only built anticipation and made many longtime fans even more eager. Although the wait has been extended, there is a silver lining for hardcore Xbox lovers. The recent Xbox Games Showcase revealed the Xbox Series X25, a limited edition console to help celebrate the company's 25th anniversary. It may not appeal to all gamers, but to pair the console with Fable could be the perfect fit for fans looking to take the ultimate dive into nostalgia.

There were tons of games that made this year's Xbox Games Showcase exciting, but the announcement of the Xbox Series X25 was a fun surprise for those who love limited edition hardware. It's not a necessary purchase, especially for those who already have an Xbox Series X, but it looks incredibly cool. This version of the console is intended for the most passionate Xbox lovers, and many of them are likely to be long-lasting Fable fans too. Fable is the first entry in the series to relinquish its status as a major Xbox exclusive, but its home is still under the company's umbrella. It's still an Xbox Game Studios-published title, so playing it on a Series X or S will only feel right.
The Xbox Series X25's design speaks for itself
The original Xbox came out in 2001, so the transparent design of the Series X25 makes perfect sense. The early 2000s was a time when transparent electronics were everywhere, and this is something Xbox has continued to embrace even beyond the height of the trend. Official transparent Xbox controllers still end up on the shelves occasionally. The heyday of transparent devices may be over, but the Xbox Series X25's design is a fun reminder of the console's early days.
Xbox has yet to reveal how much the Xbox Series X25 will cost.
Fable isn't the only game that will make the Xbox Series X25 feel amazing to play
Veteran Xbox fans are in for a triple dose of nostalgia. Between July Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Days release date in October, and Fable as it's one of the first major launches of 2027, there's plenty for Xbox fans to celebrate. These franchises make up the bulk of the major Xbox franchise, and booting each one up on the anniversary console is sure to be a cool feeling.
There are many games coming to Xbox 2026 that will be fun to experience on the Xbox Series X25. A great game and a cool console simply stand out differently, diving into Xbox's bass areas as Fable will be even more satisfying.
