After more than two years in early access, Palworld 1.0 will officially launch on July 10, 2026. A lot has already changed since then Palworld took the world by storm back in January 2024, when the game sold over 7 million copies in just 5 days after gaining early access on Steam. Now the sum is off Palworlds updates over the years since its early access release culminate with the release of version 1.0, and several new features have already been confirmed for the release.
A new cinematic trailer is announced Palworlds 1.0 release date was broadcast during the Summer Game Fest 2026 showcase. In this trailer, Palworld fans got a look at some new pals along with a teaser for the game's world tree finally becoming an accessible location. The full extent of PalworldThe 1.0 launch is still being kept under wraps, but Pocketpair continues to tease a major overhaul of the Palworld with the release of 1.0.

The Palworld branding could hint at a major multiplayer shift
Developer Pocketpair has a new Palworld brand, and that has set off a wave of speculation about a shift towards a multiplayer focus.

Pocketpair revealed the new Pal, Dupin, as a cat-like jester in black and white with red poms at the ends of his ears. While Dupin's elemental typing has not been shared, it will likely be a Dark-Element Pal based on its color scheme and trickster nature as its reveal post highlights.

While none of the Pals shown in the 1.0 trailer have been given official names, there are several recently revealed Pals for players to get excited about. The first new Pal shown in the trailer is a massive gray-orange dragon that resembles the Dark/Dragon-Element Pal Astegon. This Pal can be seen charging up some sort of fire attack in the trailer after the player attacks it with their panda-inspired Pal, suggesting that the beast may be a Fire/Dragon-Element Pal.
The Panda Pal that the player commands to attack the new dragon Pal is also a never-before-seen Pal that debuted in this trailer. This panda is much smaller and looks more feminine than a Pal like Mossanda. While both this new panda Pal and Mossanda share a green color scheme, it's unclear if this new addition is also a Grass-Element Pal or if it's something along the lines of a Neutral or Dark-Element Pal.
The most significant Pal shown in this 1.0 trailer appears to be the massive sky dragon Pal that the player character battles while flying atop his Jetragon mount. This Pal looks Palworlds take on a Chinese Loong dragon, which has a serpentine body and a lion-like mane around its head. While this Pal is almost certainly a Dragon Element Pal, it is unconfirmed if it will have a secondary element.
During this fight against Loong Pal, the player summons another new Pal to fight alongside them. This eel Pal resembles a blade of some kind, which then becomes even more apparent as the player continues to swing it like a sword, even going so far as to detach a serrated blade by pulling Pal's head out from the rest of its body. An Eel Pal like this would likely fall into the Water Element Pal category, but it could end up being a red herring for its true elemental type.
Not much can be gleaned from Palworld 1.0 trailer regarding this last Pal, as it only appears briefly at the end of the trailer, when the July 10th release date is shown. However, it seems that this Pal will play a significant role in the endgame content Palworld 1.0, as seen towering over the World Tree with its tentacle-like arms outstretched.
World Tree New map area
Palworlds map expands further in its 1.0 release, finally giving players access to the world tree that has been looming in the distance since the launch of early access. Each new Palworld the update has expanded the map to a fairly significant degree, with places like Sakurajima, Feybreak Island, and the islands added in the Tides of Terraria update being some of the most important. Pocketpair has been teasing the World Tree and its surroundings as an endgame area for a while, but it seems that 1.0 will finally allow players to visit the location.
Based on the images shown in Palworld 1.0 trailer and comments from developers on Pocketpair it seems Palworld will be almost a completely different game when it leaves early access on July 10th. However, while the World Tree has been planned to be the site of the final for Palworld 1.0, Pocketpair has not excluded a “Palworld 2.0″ release yet. This means even more locations can be added Palworlds map in a post-1.0 update.
Do you have to clear your current save when Palworld 1.0 launches?
Despite being teased a total overhaul of Palworlds mechanics in its 1.0 update, Pocketpair has confirmed that players will not need to clear their save files when the update launches. This is great news for players who have already sunk hundreds of hours into a single world over the past 2.5 years that the game has been in early access. However, for the best experience, Pocketpair recommends that players start a new save in a new world once Palworld 1.0 versions, although this is still optional.

thankfully, Palworld players will not have to lose any buddies they have tamed if they choose to create a new 1.0 world. The Global Palbox will allow players to transfer their tamed buddies between pre-1.0 worlds and worlds created after 1.0 launches, so players don't have to say goodbye to their best buddies in Palworld. However, this means Palworld players should probably hold off on starting a new world in the meantime if they plan to do so when 1.0 launches, as the release is just over a month away.
