While it may not have been the best kept secret until Summer Games Fest 2026, Cronos: The New Dawn gets an official expansion pack with the title Cronos: Lazaruswhich will be launched later this year. Cronos: The New Dawn launched last September to rave reviews, proving that the Bloober Team has a lot on their minds after an excellent remake of Silent Hill 2.
Bloober Team has been on a hot streak for the past few years and has come into its own as a household name in horror. The 2024 century Silent Hill 2 took Bloober Team from a small-scale horror studio making “walking sims” to the big time with a faithful adaptation of Konami's psychological horror classic. After that success, Cronos: The New Dawn launched in 2025 to rave reviews, proving that Bloober can keep up the momentum with its own original game. Rumors and speculation about a new project from the horror studio have been rife ever since Bloober started hinting at something new in February, and while most of what the Bloober team is working on is still under wraps, fans now have at least one new project that should tide them over until the horror studio releases its next big thing.

Why you should replay Cronos: The New Dawn at least Once
Bloober Team's Cronos: The New Dawn is a very fun survival horror game that also has some good reasons for fans to play it.
Cronos: The New Dawn reveals fast-paced, bloody DLC coming this fall
Follows up the hit that was Cronos: The New DawnBloober Team has now revealed the upcoming Cronos: Lazarus DLC, which seems to take the violence and step it up a notch. Lazarus will be a prequel DLC that allows the player to take on the role of the Warden, an elite agent of The Collective, as he becomes the character that fans see in the base game. The Warden will have an entirely new set of skills that will allow players to navigate combat quickly and aggressively, changing the pace from cronos' slower, tense feel to a faster, more dominant fighting style. Cronos: Lazarus is scheduled to be released sometime in the fall of 2026.

Bloober Team's official press release regarding Cronos: Lazarus states that the Warden will be pitted against the Tracker, a new villain that players can likely assume will be a stalker-type enemy similar to Mr. X from Resident Evil. To fight and evade the tracker, the Warden must use a whole new set of tricks, including decoys and teleportation, to outmaneuver the persistent threat in an expansion that increases the pressure and risk of Cronos: The New Dawn. Also, Bloober says so Lazarus' the prequel story will focus on the internal conflict and defiance of The Collective.
The disclosure of Cronos: Lazarus follows a series of leaks and rumors that Bloober Team had something in store for its breakout hit 2025. Speculation about what Bloober has been cooking up has been a big topic of conversation among survival horror fans, especially given that Bloober says it has seven projects currently in production, including a remake of the original Silent Hill. What's more, along with the disclosure of Cronos: The New Dawn's new story DLC, Bloober had another big announcement to follow Lazarus.

The Bloober Team has also announced Saw: Genesisan asymmetrical horror game developed by Broken Mirror, Anshar Studios and published by Bloober. With Lionsgate now working with Bloober to develop a game for one of the biggest horror franchises of all time, it's clear that the studio has come a long way since then. Layers of fear. Hopefully, Cronos: Lazarus continues the momentum that Bloober has gathered over the past few years.
