The developers behind Pragmatics have expressed that they would like to make a sequel to the game. The exciting new IP has already been a hit for Capcom, and Pragmatics fans want more.
Pragmatics took a very long time to reach players after being revealed all the way back in 2020. Prior to launch there were concerns that Pragmatics would be cancelled, or that it would be a disappointment after such a build up to it. However, Pragmatics sold two million copies after being on the market for just over half a month, indicating that the game has been anything but a failure for Capcom.
The Pragmata team would like to make a sequel
In a recent chat with GamesRadar, Pragmatics director Yonghee Cho and producer Naoto Oyama were asked about the possibility of a sequel, and whether they would like to return to the new Capcom IP to do so. While the team emphasized that there is currently no plan to produce one Pragmatics sequel, both members would love to see one. Oyama explained that he didn't know what the future held, and that he was mostly focused on getting as many people as possible to play the game. However, Cho was more blunt, saying that he “loves to see a sequel,” but that it's ultimately not up to him. Both stressed that their statements were personal opinions, and not indicative of it Pragmatics 2 hands.

It's understandable that Capcom wouldn't already have another sequel Pragmatics in progress, given that the game entered the market as a question mark. There was no guarantee that the game would be a hit, especially as a brand new IP that had suffered long delays before launch. Although there is a big gap between Resident Evil Requiem selling 7 million copies in its first 17 days and Pragmatics move 2 million, Resident Evil Requiem has a huge and established franchise behind it, and returning popular characters that fans wanted to see. About one Pragmatics the sequel happens and is done well, it is quite possible that it can surpass its predecessor.
As the producer indicated, the plan at the moment is to introduce as many people as possible to the new sci-fi game. It is likely that more sales milestones will be developed Pragmaticsbut it may take some time. 2026 has already seen many successful games from established franchises that players are still exploring, and there's also the added difficulty that gaming is an expensive hobby right now. Pragmatics is exclusive to current-gen consoles and PC, and the price of consoles like the Xbox Series X and PS5 has increased, so some would-be players may have to wait until they can afford to upgrade.
