Pokémon GO has revealed plans for a Community Day event in June, which will focus on Frigibax, a dragon/ice type from the Paldea region. Community Day events have become a beloved part of Pokémon GO over the years, as they offer a number of in-game bonuses during a short window. Most importantly, players have an increased chance of encountering the highlighted Pokémon's Shiny variant.
Pokémon GOs new season begins on June 2nd and will run through September 8th. During that time, players can look forward to many different in-game events, from Community Days to Pokemon GO Fest 2026. Niantic has already revealed several plans, and players can even look forward to new Mega Evolutions being introduced in Pokemon Legends: ZA. This will include Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, as well as Mega Skarmory.

In addition to the Community Day event in June, Niantic has offered hints about a Community Day event that will take place in August. Pokémon GO players were allowed to vote on Community Day in August 2025, and they will have the opportunity to do so again this year. This time there are four Pokemon to choose from: Tadbulb, Nickit, Fidough and Yamper. Players will be able to vote via the official Pokémon GO YouTube channel and voting will be available between May 30 at 6 p.m. PT and May 31 at 6 p.m. PT. Each coach only gets one vote.
Of the Pokémon introduced in the Paldea region, Frigibax is a pretty good choice for a Community Day event. Baxcalibur is one of the best Pokemon to use in Scarlet and Violetand it has quickly become popular among fans of the franchise. It also got its own Mega Evolution Pokemon Legends: ZA last year, which has not yet been introduced Pokémon GO. There's a good chance players will want to get a Shiny Baxcalibur in anticipation of its Mega Evolution's arrival to Pokémon GOor for the purpose of transferring it to Pokemon Legends: ZAso it can be used there. Either way, this seems like a strong choice that should appeal to a lot of people.

Pokémon GOThe 10th anniversary will take place in July, and the game's continued success can be attributed to its frequent updates. Niantic has supported the game with a constant stream of events and new additions, and these have helped keep players passionate over the years. Players don't always have the chance to participate in every event, but those who miss Frigibax Community Day shouldn't worry too much; December's Community Day should focus on all Pokémon that received Community Day events throughout 2026. Niantic hasn't confirmed that this will be the case this year, but it's become a tradition in the game, and it's something players are counting on if they missed previous events.
