During a podcast appearance, actor Kumail Nanjiani claimed that a game he recently worked on would be out “in a couple of years.” He did not officially name the project he is a part of, but with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet since it's the last game he worked on, the Naughty Dog title is likely what he was referring to. If his words are correct, then Intergalactic may not come out until 2028 or later. As game development becomes more complicated, the wait for Naughty Dog games gets longer. So it wouldn't be too surprising if the project didn't start until 2028.

Nanjiani is not the only person from Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet cast to talk about the game recently. Tati Gabrielle, who plays the main character Jordan, recently said in an interview while promoting the new Mortal Kombat movie that Intergalactic is “another side of Naughty Dog.” There have previously been reports that director Neil Druckmann was inspired by it Fire Rings non-linear exploration.
