It's been almost five years since Far Cry 6 was released, and so far we know everything about Far Cry 7 through various rumors, leaks and reports. It's an open secret that Far Cry 7 is being developed over at Ubisoft, but as to when we'll see the game is anyone's guess.
We can add another leak to the list, as Ubisoft leaker Rogue has taken to social media to share a minute-long clip of what they claim is audio from Far Cry 7.
Against a vast mountainous background, the clip is heavy on ticking sounds. The intensity of the ticking and the music rises over the minute before the clip finally fades out.

The modern video landscape wouldn't be the same without Far Cry 3
It's been over a decade since Ubisoft's open-world blockbuster changed video games forever.
If the audio is indeed real, then it seemingly confirms a long-standing rumor that Far Cry 7 would have a time-related twist, one that has frustrated fans who just want to play the game at their own pace.
Far Cry 7 will seemingly be a different kind of Far Cry title
Back in 2023, it was first reported that Far Cry 7 would have a time mechanic that would require players to beat the game within 24 real-time hours. Rumors suggested that the game's main story would revolve around a family that would need to be rescued within a certain time limit.
The clock would reportedly be paused when in the safe house, but otherwise it would tick away for all other activities. The 24 real hours would correspond to 72 hours in the game. At the time, rumors suggested that Cillian Murphy would have a role in the game, although this was later revealed.
Last year, “scrapped versions” of Far Cry 7 managed to leak online, including word of an extraction mode and an Alaskan setting. However, it is unclear which parts of the leaks had been scrapped. More recently, Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson stated that Far Cry 7 development is “going through hell and back.”
In the end, there is enough to suggest that Far Cry 7 will differ from previous entries. How different will be seen when it is finally revealed.
