The long-awaited indie title Mine the Hollower will finally arrive in the last week of May, according to social media posts from developer Yacht Club Games. Barring further delays, the impending launch of Mine the Hollower comes nearly four years after the game was first revealed.
Mine the Hollower is an action-focused game inspired by previous titles from The Legend of Zelda series, such as Oracle duology and Link's Awakening. The top-down perspective gameplay is further tempered by the Soulslike gameplay to add some punishing yet satisfying challenge to the game's encounters. Billed by developer Yacht Club Games as a love letter to the Game Boy era, Mine the Hollower8-bit art style and Victorian horror inspirations make it one of the more unique indie titles to come this year.

Mina the Hollower is almost here
Even if Mine the Hollower initially delayed from the Halloween 2025 launch window, Yacht Club Games said fans won't have much longer to wait for it. Mine the Hollower coming Friday, May 29on all current platforms, and will have a launch day price of $19.99. Yacht Club Games revealed the new release date and MSRP via a short trailer on social media, stressing that May 29 was the “real final release date” for the Game Boy-inspired title. Mine the Hollower can now be listed on multiple storefronts, including Steam, GOG, and the Nintendo eShop. Yacht Club Games confirmed via Mine the Hollowers Kickstarter page that a physical release would happen at a later date, as it wanted to get the game out sooner. Thus, Mine the Hollower will be launched exclusively on digital platforms.
Despite the 8-bit visual style, Mine the Hollower will support modern controls and widescreen displays. Along with support for Windows computers, Mine the Hollower will also launch on macOS and Linux operating systems. Additionally, the Switch and Switch 2 versions of the Mine the Hollower have separate listings on the Nintendo eShop, so it's unclear if there will be an upgrade pack for players to consider. Given that the developer Yacht Club Games previously worked with Spade Knightone of the most successful indie games to date, fan expectations of Mine the Hollower have been high since its 2022 reveal and subsequent Kickstarter funding campaign. The Kickstarter received support from 21,439 users and raised $1,239,584.
The release date announcement came nearly two weeks after Yacht Club Games surprised fans with an update about Mine the Hollowers development. After previously saying that its upcoming project would arrive sometime in the spring, Yacht Club Games said so Mine the Hollower had gone gold on April 24. While the main development cycle of Mine the Hollower has come to an end, Yacht Club Games can still spend the remaining time until release fixing any lingering bugs or issues.

Mine the Hollower will arrive in the middle of a packed game release in May 2026. With titles like 007 First light and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will also be released in the back half of May, it remains to be seen how Mine the Hollower will be fine.
