Pokémon GO Developer Niantic has pulled back the curtain on its plans for May, revealing Raid Day events planned for the month. 10th anniversary of Pokémon GO is coming up in July, and Niantic has teased how it will celebrate the big milestone. In the last decade, the game has become an important part of Pokémon franchise, bringing in newcomers while attracting lapsed fans.
With May almost here, there have already been several announcements about Pokémon GO. The month will feature two Community Day events. Pokémon GO will have a Lechonk Community Day on May 9, while a Community Day Classic will take place on May 16. Niantic has not revealed which Pokemon will return to the spotlight for the later event.

Pokémon GO fans can look forward to two different Raid Day events in the month of May. An Entei Shadow Raid Day will take place on May 2nd, focusing on a legendary Pokemon that first appeared in the Johto region. The Fire type has seen a lot of focus lately, as Pokémon GO has an Entei encounter as an April GO Pass reward. For those worried that they won't be able to complete the GO pass before time runs out, Shadow Raid Day is another opportunity to add Entei to the Pokedex. Players will also have an increased chance of encountering a Shiny Entei during next month's event. The Remote Raid limit will also be increased to 20. Additionally, Shadow Cresselia will appear in Shadow Raids between May 6th and June 2nd.
Currently, details for Pokémon GOThe May 23rd Mega Raid Day has not been revealed. But Mega Camerupt, Mega Glalie, Mega Altaria, and Mega Medicham will appear in Mega Raids, each taking over each week. Five-Star Raids will feature Pokémon from Alola, with Nihilego, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini appearing for all players. From May 13-19, five-star raids will vary by region, as Buzzwole will be available in the Americas and Greenland, Pheromosa in Europe, the Middle East, and India, and Xurkitree in Asia Pacific.
In addition to everything on the month's schedule, a major event will begin rolling out at the end of May. The first in-person Pokemon GO Fest 2026 event begins next month in Tokyo, with events to follow in Chicago and Copenhagen in June. Fans unable to attend in person Pokémon GO event will still get to take part in the festivities, but they'll have to wait a bit longer, as the global event will take place in July. Few details have been revealed, but Pokemon GO Fest 2026 will put a big focus on Mewtwo.
