Overwatch Reveals New Hero Sierra Gameplay and Abilities

Monitoring has officially revealed the gameplay for Sierra, the new hero coming in Reign of Talon Season 2, with features like a tracking shot, tremor charge, and an anchor drone that can act as a grappling point or aerial fire support. Sierra marks the 51st hero in the Monitoringand the sixth to be released as part of Reign of Talon in 2026.

Recently, Monitoring revealed Sierra, the next playable character coming to the hero shooter. The Helix Security captain works with Overwatch to oppose Talon, who has attacked her base at Watchpoint: Grand Mesa to steal a mysterious briefcase from the facility. The drone-wielding hero held his own against Emre, but was eventually outmatched, allowing the Talon to secure the payload they sought.

Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 2 Hero Sierra Abilities

Now, Monitoring has officially revealed how this new character will play in the game. A short gameplay trailer showed off all of Sierra's abilities, which revolve around her homing Helix Rifle, Tremor Charges, and her pink anchor drone, Dorothy. With this kit, Sierra will fill the same run-and-gun archetype as Monitoring heroes like Emre, Sojourn and Soldier: 76.

- Subroll: Recon – Damaging enemies below half health reveals them to Sierra and her team.

- Helix Rifle: An automatic pulse rifle that fires in a spiral pattern and gains accuracy with sustained fire.
- Tracking Shot: Marks an enemy, causing Helix Rifle shots to land on marked enemies.
Abilities
- Anchor Drone: Sends Dorothy flying forward. Activate again to dash to the anchor drone's location.
- Tremor Grenade: Throws an explosive that creates a cone-shaped shock wave on impact.

- Trailblazer: Sends Dorothy flying forward in a line, bombarding the area below for massive damage.

Sierra looks like a dangerous and highly mobile force on the battlefield. Her Helix Rifle functions like Sojourn's Railgun, but with the ability to lock onto enemies instead of using a Charged Shot. Her anchor drone is similar to Vendetta's Soaring Slice, giving her a powerful engagement and escape tool. Meanwhile, her Tremor Charge and Trailblazer give her powerful areas of effect. Sierra seems like she's going to be a dangerous aerial enemy Monitoring heroes like Jetpack Cat and teams that are grouped.

Although Sierra's current activities—opposing the Talon after their attack on her facility—are known, her background remains shrouded in mystery. Players can expect to see a motion picture on April 13 ahead of the release of Season 2, which will likely explain where she came from, how she joined Helix Security in Monitoringand how she met her drone, Dorothy.

An update to the Battle Pass, a rework of the Antarctic Peninsula map, a Switch 2 port, a redesign of Anran's face model, and more await fans in this upcoming April 14th update.
