Second LEGO Pokemon Minifig detailed in new leak hinting at a 2-in-1 deal

A Pokemon trainer LEGO minifigure could be in the works, according to a new report from a well-known leaker. Additionally, the still unannounced minifigure may even get an oversized variant from LEGO.

Originally announced in March 2025, LEGO's Pokémon collaboration has so far produced just three sets: 72151 Eevee, 72152 Pikachu and Poke Ball, and its crown jewel in the form of 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise. Released in March 2026, all three products came as larger brick-built models without minifigures. Still, recent reports suggest that the Danish toymaker is currently working on several Pokémon minifigures, although the total number of 2026 sets expected to include them remains unclear.

The first LEGO Pokemon minifigure is leaking online, and it's adorable

One of LEGO's yet to be officially announced featured Pokemon minifigures is appearing online in the form of a leaked photo.

LEGO is reportedly working on a scaled-up Pokemon Trainer Minifigure and more

According to a new report from Brick Tap community leaker Chief Wiggum, one of the upcoming minifigures will be based on a Pokémon coach. LEGO is also said to be planning an Up-Scaled variant of the same character for later in 2026. The model is reportedly in development along with an Up-Scaled Mrs. Claus, with this year's lineup of oversized minifigures possibly also including a Spider-Punk replica, according to the same source. The new leak doesn't specify a launch window, but with much of this year's LEGO Pokémon lineup rumored to arrive in the summer of 2026, that timeframe seems likely for the trainer minifigure as well.

Scaled-up Pokemon trainer can include a regular-sized LEGO minifigure

While Chief Wiggum only mentioned the scaled-up version of the trainer character, LEGO does not release such oversized models in isolation. Instead, the company usually bases its scaled-up designs on standard minifigures from other sets. Therefore, if an Up-Scaled Pokemon trainer is indeed in development, it is likely that at least one additional set of its regular counterpart will also be launched later in 2026. That said, LEGO has recently packaged its oversized character models with regular minifigures, as seen with sets like the 40921 Up-Scaled Blue Up Astronaut-Minifigure 9 and Minifigure 4064LE. This raises the possibility that the rumored Up-Scaled Pokémon Trainer, which may not be its official name, could also launch as a similar two-in-one offering.

The Pokemon trainer model marks the second minifigure believed to have leaked from the 2026 LEGO Pokemon line. The first is an Eevee minifig that will reportedly be included in the yet-to-be-announced 72154 Poke Ball set. Designed as a giant Poke Ball that opens to reveal a smaller scene inside, the purported set is said to be priced at $259.99 and contain more than 2,200 pieces. The 72154 Poke Ball was previously rumored to include several LEGO minifigures beyond Eevee, meaning that the recently leaked Pokémon trainer minifigure could also be part of the upcoming set.

Many of this year's Pokémon offerings from LEGO are expected to debut with Smart Play support. The new toy platform focuses on rechargeable bricks equipped with sensors, lights and speakers that can react to compatible tagged environments. This part of the range is only expected to see a limited release, but LEGO has so far announced its Smart Play platform in just six countries: US, UK, France, Poland, Germany and Australia. Assuming the next LEGO Pokémon product wave is scheduled for August, its official announcement will likely come no later than June 2026.
