Kishimoto has created a brilliant power system where a variety of characters excel in different types of Jutsu, with some of them taking defensive ability to the next level. While all the top tiers have pretty strong defensive abilities, there are some that have a defense so high it's practically impenetrable, and these are the characters that are the most resilient in battle.

Eight Trigrams Rotation
The Hyuga clan has gained immense control over the Byakugan over the years, given that they are direct descendants of Hamura Otsutsuki. They have also developed a specific fighting style that relies on the Gentle Fist. The Hyuga have controlled the flow of chakra through their Tenketsu to a level where they can actually emit chakra from them.
As they rotate their bodies at a dramatic speed, it creates a barrier of chakra so strong that it can deflect the vast majority of jutsu launched against it. Even attacks from the Ten-Tails couldn't penetrate eight trigram rotation of the Hyuga clan. Masters of this technique have achieved an incredibly powerful defense that hardly anyone can break through, and that is what makes it truly special. While not the best or most reliable defensive abilities in the Naruto series, it is certainly very hard to get past.

Shikotsumyaku is one of the most underrated Kekkei Genkai found in the world of Naruto, and has now been mostly eradicated after the death of the Kaguya clan. The last capable person to wield this power properly was Kimimaro, who stood as a major antagonist in the first installment of the Naruto series.
Those with the power of Shikotsumyaku can manipulate their bone structure freely and change things like bone density. Their bones are so hard that they are practically impossible to break through. They can also freely manipulate the structure of their legs to create defensive constructs and even inject them into their surroundings to such an extent that the entire terrain is altered by the legs. The defensive abilities of these bones make them harder than steel, and even the most powerful offensive jutsu can have incredible difficulty penetrating them. The Shikotsumyaku is called the ultimate defense by many in the Naruto world for this very reason.
Fivefold Rashomon
Fivefold Rashomon is a very unique jutsu used by Hashirama Senju in his fight against Madara Uchiha. This jutsu erects five absolutely massive barriers in front of the user that are so strong they can even hold off an actual Tailed Beast Ball and deflect it.
While not the strongest defense, it can essentially tank mini nukes with ease, and all incoming projectiles can be countered with its use. Orochimaru used an inferior version of this jutsu in the story, but Hashirama was its only true master. It certainly continues to serve as one of the best defenses offered in the series.
Full Body Susanoo
Quite simply, one of the most impressive defensive abilities in the world of Naruto comes through the Uchiha Mangekyo Sharingan, which provides the power of Susanoo. In its basic form, Susano'o only allows the user to create a skeletal structure around themselves. As the Mangekyo Sharingan is strengthened and control over it improved, Susanoo itself can grow dramatically in size.
When the Mangekyo Sharingan is fully matured, and especially when it transforms into an Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, reducing the burden on the body, the user can even manifest a complete construct known as the Complete Body Susanoo. This Susanoo is incredibly massive in size and towers over small hills. A single slash from its blade can cut entire mountain ranges in half, and its power is such that it can essentially go on to destroy continents with ease.
Susanoo possesses immense defensive abilities such that the vast majority of powerful jutsu cannot penetrate it. Only those with Six Paths series powers can break through the Susanoo, and everyone else is simply powerless in front of it. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara Uchiha showed a glimpse of the power of the Susanoo when he unleashed it in the battle against the Five Kage, and it was clear to see how helpless they were against it.

Truth-seeking orb

User: Six Paths Senjutsu Wielders
Masashi Kishimoto introduced Six Paths powers in the Naruto series towards the end, and these abilities gave access to some unique powers, such as the Truth-Seeking Orbs. The truth-seeking orbs were first awakened by Obito Uchiha when they became the Jinchuriki of the Ten Tails. After him, Madara Uchiha gained access to them as well, and Naruto Uzumaki also reached them after awakening the Six Paths Senjutsu.
The truth-seeking orbs consists of each individual element, along with Yin, Yang and Yin-Yang Release. With all these powers, the truth-seeking orbs can basically nullify any jutsu. Also, they work the same way as Dust Release, breaking down anything on a molecular level when they touch them. A defense of the truth-seeking orbs can nullify almost every jutsu in existence. But they have a major weakness that comes through Senjutsu. Any attack powered with sage chakra can break through the truthseeking orbs, but other than that they provide maximum defense in battle and can also double up as an attack as well.

Shinra Tensei
The Rinnegan's power is absolutely immense and it gives great offensive abilities but also tremendous defensive abilities. The Deva Path essentially allows the user to control attractive and repulsive forces, and based on how much chakra is put into the repulsion, it can basically act as an impenetrable defense.
Any powerful attack launched at the user can be easily countered by someone who is a master of the Rinnegan and has enough chakra. For example, Pain can blow up an entire village with Shinra Tenseiand with such chakra, he can practically stop Six Paths level attacks, even if it costs a lot. Without a doubt, Shinra Tensei offers one of the best defenses in the Naruto series.
Yata mirror
The Yata Mirror is one of the two Ethereal Weapons in the Naruto world, attained by Itachi Uchiha at an unknown time. Both of the Ethereal Weapons are incredibly powerful, and the Yata Mirror specifically has great defensive capabilities. Essentially, this mirror can be used as a shield, and its powers are such that it can nullify any attack found in the Naruto world. Yata Mirror can block even the most potent attacks by simply adapting to it and countering it with the opposite character.
Unlike the Truth Seeking Orbs, the Yata Mirror has no weakness to Senjutsu. It nullifies all attacks, no matter how strong or what they are made of, and is part of what made Itachi Uchiha an invincible shinobi.
