Every wish made in Dragon Ball Super & Dragon Ball DAIMA

The following article contains spoilers for Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball DAIMA, including parts of Super that have not yet been adapted into anime.

When new Dragon Ball series are announced, fans inevitably get extremely excited. Most of them quickly start wondering what new transformations the next entry in the franchise will introduce. After all, even if changes weren't a big deal in the beginning Dragon Ball chapter the introduction of the Super Saiyan changed history forever.

But aside from the powerful forms of both heroes and villains, there's another aspect that's fun to pay attention to in the series: what characters want to do after collecting the legendary Dragon Balls. Since the beginning, Dragon Balls have been sought for many common reasons (like Bulma wanting a boyfriend), but in the end they are usually quite helpful and sometimes incredibly overused for trivial reasons.

Dragon Ball Super Remake

Dragon Ball Super Anime Remake Officially Revealed for Fall 2026

A new Dragon Ball Super remake starting with a new adaptation of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods will be released in the fall of 2026.

Earth Dragon Balls in Dragon Ball Super

Most wishes relate to ordinary things

In it Dragon Ball Super timeline, between Dragon Ball Z and the beginning of Super, Pilaf collected the Dragon Balls and wished for himself and his gang to become young again. They appear as children right at the beginning of the series, in a clear reference to Dragon Ball GT.

During the anime, the Dragon Balls are used a few more times. During the Battle of Gods arc, Goku and the other Saiyans summoned Shenron to ask about the Super Saiyan God. Later, while searching for information about the Super Dragon Balls, Beerus simply ordered Shenron to “go away” as he could not help them. This is not exactly a wish, but can perhaps be seen as one. Later in the series, Gohan prayed that Pan would be cured of a high fever.

You really are a useless lizard, aren't you? Just walk away.

Also, in Future Trunks Timeline, Pilaf also wished his gang to be young again, and this ended up turning them into babies (this is exclusive to the manga). Once again, their wish went too far.

Finally, in the Revival of “F” Arc, which was incorporated into Dragon Ball Super anime based on the events of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of “F” movie, Sorbet wished for Frieza to be resurrected. He had two more wishes, but Shu and Mai granted them: Shu wished for money, while Mai asked for some ice cream (the most perfect wish in the franchise). There will likely be more requests after the manga (hopefully) returns.

Namek Dragon Balls in Dragon Ball Super

Used a couple of times, especially in Moro Arc

Goku in Dragon Ball Super (2015)

The Namek Dragon Balls have been used a bit more than their Earth counterparts in the show. During the Beerus Saga, Kibito Kai used them to split into Shin and Kibito. Later, in the Golden Frieza Saga, Moori wished to revive Piccolo at the request of Goku and the others.

At the beginning of the Moro Saga, whose anime adaptation will premiere later this year, Cranberry and Moro used the Namek Dragon Balls to heal themselves and release all the prisoners in the Galactic Patrol Prison (actually, Moro killed Cranberry after recovering his powers). At the end of this arc, the Namekians asked Porunga to revive the people killed by Moro's advance.

Finally, in a bonus chapter in the first volume, titled “Warriors from Universe 6,” Goku used these Dragon Balls to restore King Kai's planet.

Super Dragon Balls in Dragon Ball Super

Zamasu Super Summoned Shenron a few times

Dragon Ball Super also introduces the Super Dragon Balls, which can be used to summon Super Shenron. Whis, translating Beerus' words, wanted to restore Universe 6's Earth, effectively reviving the humans and other living creatures (perhaps excluding the dinosaurs). Later, in the Null Realm, Android 17 restored all the universes erased in the Tournament of Power with his wish.

In Zamasu's timeline, he used the Super Dragon Balls to switch bodies with Monaka (this only happened in the manga) and later to switch bodies with Goku. In the future timeline, he became immortal and later he and Goku Black destroyed the Super Dragon Balls, so no one could use them to undo their plans.

Cereal Dragon Balls

So far only used in Dragon Ball Super

Planet Cereal also has its own Dragon Balls, and they were used before Super and under it. Decades before the start of the series, Monaito allows Bardock to make a wish, ensuring the survival of Goku and Raditz as Bardock asked for both of his sons to thrive. Years later, Granolah used the Dragon Balls to become the strongest being in Universe 7. Finally, Elec wished for Gas to become the new strongest warrior.

Earth Dragon Balls in Dragon Ball DAIMA

The series starts with Gomah's wish

Dragon Ball DAIMA began with King Gomah collecting the Earth Dragon Balls to wish those involved in Majin Buu's defeat to turn into children, effectively turning most of the Dragon Team into children again (and those who were children became babies, like Trunks and Goten). DB Daima also revealed that the Dragon Team is allowed to make three wishes because Shenron considers them “loyal customers”.

Demon Realm Dragon Balls

So far only used in Dragon Ball Daima

Dragon Ball Daima also introduced the Demon Realm, where the heroes set out to collect the Dragon Balls to summon the Demon Realm Porunga, return to their normal states, and defeat the Demon King Gomah. Once gathered, Glorio used them to turn the main characters back to their normal ages, making Goku and Vegeta once again powerful enough to beat Gomah in his giant three-eyed form.
