Crimson Desert Update 1.01.00 adds five new mounts

Crimson Desert patch 1.01.00 is here, introducing five new summonable mounts, while making broader changes to the game's controls as part of Pearl Abyss' “ongoing efforts” to address feedback.

The new mounts consist of three legendary animals and two bosses, but if you already captured these before the patch went live, don't worry, as they will be retroactively added to your “Extra Rewards List” when you open the game.

  • White bear

  • Silver Fang

  • Snow white deer

  • Rock Tusk warthog

  • Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex

Pearly Abyss also explained that “Pywel's people are not afraid of domesticated animals, so feel free to ride through cities with these mounts.”

Crimson Desert Patch 1.01.00 improves interaction range, adds new QoL to inventory and changes how movement speed works

Last week, the team addressed the “discomfort” with confusing controls as critics and players have raised each after launch, assuring that it would streamline the experience “as quickly as possible.” Patch 1.01.00 marks the second update since then, with the first implementing more fast travel points and a private storage box to lighten the load.

As for the controls updates today, here are some of the highlights detailed in the patch notes on the official Crimson Desert website:

  • Movement speed is increased by holding down the run key “(Note that maintaining full sprint mode still requires periodic input of the sprint button.)”

  • Flight stamina consumption has been reduced and equipment can now be used while flying.

  • The interaction range has been “improved”.

  • Items can now be sold by double-clicking them in shops (on mouse/keyboard).

    • You can also double-click items in your inventory to use them.

  • Certain bosses and enemies will no longer attack immediately after you revive.

  • Weapons can now be drawn with the key from the case.

  • Holding Q while moving the mouse “now allows objects to be moved more precisely.”

  • Pearl Abyss has “Improved items so they are easier to interact with.”

You can read the full patch notes here, which include not only control changes and new mounts, but also various UI improvements, mission fixes, and graphics updates.
