Every character featured in the Super Mario Galaxy movie's new teaser

Now that the Super Mario Galaxy movie is only two weeks away, Nintendo and Illumination are really ramping up the promotion for the sequel. It revealed a series of posters on Tuesday showing some of the game locations we'll see on the big screen, but even better than that, it shared a very short teaser where 40 characters that will appear in the upcoming film were crammed.

The tempo starts off slow and features the main cast of characters from The Galaxy Movie. We get Mariowhen Luigi in a frog suit, Princess Peach, Rosalina, Bowser, Toad has used a penguin power-upand Yoshi. These seven characters will probably be the ones we see the most of in the next movie, along with Bowser Jr. which is saved until last a few seconds later.

I also mean a few seconds, which despite the fact that no less than 41 characters are jammed into the new teaser, it's only ten seconds long. That's because the pace really starts to pick up after Yoshi appears, reaching a point where you'll likely only see a couple of the characters as it hits top speed.

The first character to appear after Yoshi is Kamek. An unsurprising one, since he was part of the last Mario movie. After Kamek we are shown a Ukikithe monkey enemies from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, that is a Toast Arena from Super Mario Odyssey, a Star Bunny from Super Mario Galaxy, Monty Mole which has appeared in various Mario games, and since Ninjaof which there will apparently be quite a bit in the new film.

It's after Ninji that we get our first non-Mario character – ROB the robot. ROB's appearance in the film was confirmed via a playset reveal, and he has also been featured in a full clip. After ROB we see a Pianta, a Thwomp, a honey bee, a Bubblainian, a Moe-Eye, an Urchin, an Octoguyand that brings us neatly to one of the more surprising inclusions in the film, Wart. Wart is the antagonist from Super Mario Bros. 2, and he has a significant enough role to play in the film that Luis Guzman is voting for.

Yes, there will be Pikmin in the Mario Galaxy movie

The red, yellow and blue Pikmin ride the bulbs to say goodbye in the second ending of Pikmin 4.

Just before we get to the biggest reveal, we see Whittle from Paper Mario. After that we have confirmation of it there will be Pikmin in this movie. Nintendo released a Pixar-esque Pikmin short last year, and now the little creatures are gearing up for their big-screen debut. After Pikmin we see Gearmowhen Mouser, Dry legs, Birdo, Claw grip, an Astro Goomba, a Pokey, a Conkdor, a Wiggler, another Piantaand what I think is a Z Koopa from Hotel Mario.

Into the final stretch, and we have Coin boxthe return of everyone's favorite Luma, Mega leg, Loading Chuck, a piranha plantand as mentioned above, the closer, Bowser Jr. 41 characters in total – 43 if you count the three Pikmin types individually – all of which will be in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Some of them will likely blink and you'll miss the moment. Maybe grab some bingo tiles and see if anyone can see them all. Sorry, no sign of Star Fox or Wario. A previous teaser has a thought that we might see the non-Mario Nintendo character show up to help out, while we're all just hoping to see Wario. My money is still on him appearing in the credits. At least I think we'll hear his signature laugh.
