In very rare cases, Quirks can undergo an awakening, which is triggered by an intense emotion or a near-death experience, depending on the user.
Once a Quirk is awakened, it gives the user greater power and completely changes how the Quirk works in many cases. Fans have seen many powerful Quirk Awakenings over the years MHAand it is safe to say that only a few can really be considered overpowered.

Aoyama
Aoyama possesses the power of the Navel Laser and this Quirk was given to him by none other than All For One. This Quirk was quite weak and caused him all sorts of problems when he used its power. But in the Final War Arc, he was able to awaken it. After undergoing Awakening, the Navel Laser was able to shoot faster, and at the same time, the power of the lasers was also increased.
This was seen in his fight against Kunieda, where he teamed up a lot with Tooru to defeat her. Much about his Quirk Awakening is still unknown, but fans are eagerly waiting to see how great his power really is.
The goat
Goat's Ice Play Quirk is a pretty interesting ability that wasn't that special to begin with. This Quirk differs from Ray's Frost, as it does not allow him to produce ice at all. Instead, he can only manipulate ice.
After undergoing Awakening, this Quirk unlocked the power to manipulate the temperature of ice, which in turn allowed him to essentially freeze water in his surroundings to create ice and then attack with this power. This also allows him to fend off flames of incredibly high temperatures, as seen when he collided with Dabi.
Ochaco Uraraka
Ochaco Uraraka had her moment of glory in My Hero Academia's Final War Saga, where she battled Toga. In this battle, her Quirk underwent awakening and it strengthened her use Zero gravity.

My Hero Academia has some incredibly overpowered characters and these are the ones that stand out on top.
After his near-death experience in the battle against Shigaraki, where he fell victim to a stab, Bakugo saw his quirk undergo an awakening. Using this awakening, Bakugo was able to produce stronger, faster and more potent explosions. On top of that, Bakugo was able to spawn a new ability that ended up being the basis of his ultimate power-up, called Cluster. It was by using this power that he was able to match even All For One in battle, despite being in a near-death state.
Himiko Toga
Himiko Toga is an awesome character from My Hero Academia who also possesses one of the deadliest Quirks. Toga has access to transformation quirk which allows her to transform into any individual whose blood she ingests.
After undergoing Awakening, her Quirk allowed her to also access the powers of the individual whose blood she ingests. This made her incredibly overpowered and gave her access to various abilities, such as Ochako Uraraka's Zero Gravity, and even Twice's cloning power.
Shigaraki Tomura
By far the most overpowered Quirk Awakening fans have seen My Hero Academia belongs to no one else but Shigaraki. This is an incredibly dangerous power that was essentially manipulated by All For One when Shigaraki was still small. He removed the reconstruction part of the Quirk and made it completely destructive in nature.
The destructive power of Quirk was toned down due to the trauma he went through as a child when his family died. But in Meta Liberation War, Shigaraki's Quirk was reawakened and he gained access to insurmountable decaying power. He didn't even have to make contact with his targets to decay them, and he could also reduce things to dust at lightning speed. By the end of the story, Shigaraki was at a level where he could even destroy all of Japan within minutes at best with his incredibly powerful decaying power.
