21 May 2026 (Thursday)Yoshi and the Mysterious Book will be released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday, May 21, just two weeks before the Switch 2's one-year anniversary. The game starts with an unknown book, named Mr. E, who arrives on Yoshi's Island and opens its pages to invite them to explore new storybook worlds filled with unknown creatures waiting to be discovered. Yoshi can jump into these pages and explore 2D levels that will introduce unique animals for Yoshi to study and interact with. One of the new game mechanics in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is Yoshi's ability to feed fruits and vegetables to the various creatures he encounters, with each food transforming the creatures in unexpected ways. These transformations can help Yoshi reveal hidden areas in each level and will be scribbled on Mr. E's pages for further study.
