With multiplayer is such a great feature in Pokemon Pokopiait's important that players have a way to express themselves around their friends, or even for photos. Since there is no text-based chat, or even in-game chat, unless you count the Nintendo Switch's GameChat feature, it leaves you with emotions.
Right from the start, you'll know a few simple emotions, but as you continue to explore Pokopia's world, you'll be able to learn a few more by stumbling upon hidden objects. By interacting with these items, you can learn emotes, which you can then use to interact with friends or even your Pokémon buddies.
All Emote Locations
As mentioned, emotes will be scattered around the different areas of Pokopia, so you need access to the other gated areas to unlock them all. Once you have them, try testing them out with some of your Pokemon friends, as they will often react directly to the emote you use with a corresponding response.
To use emotes, press down on the D-pad. Here you will be able to see a wheel of them and move them around to create favorites.
The emotes you will start the game with are Celebrate, Cry, Shocked, Beckon, Bow and Sleepy. For an overview of exactly where to find all the other emotes, see the table below.
