Roguelite game with highly positive reviews is officially coming to Switch 2

Deadzone: Roguea roguelite Sci-Fi co-op FPS, has just been announced for Nintendo Switch 2. This announcement came during the recent Nintendo Indie World Showcase, where Deadzone: Rogue was given a Switch 2 release date of March 17, 2026.

The recent Nintendo Indie World Showcase revealed nearly 20 indie games heading to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 this year. The 18-minute long presentation featured a wide range of games, ranging from highly anticipated sequels that are on the way in the coming year, which Moonlighters 2 and To 2to exciting shadow drops that Blue Prince and Rotwood which are available now.

A brand new four-player co-op game has just been released for the Nintendo Switch 2, the only console it's currently available on.

Deadzone: Rogue will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 17, 2026

Developed and published by Prophecy Games, Deadzone: Rogue originally released on Steam Early Access in April 2025. As the title teases, Deadzone: Rogue is a roguelite game where up to three players team up to defeat hordes of biomechanical enemies. From a first-person perspective, players will fight their way through the corridors of a doomed starship, using an arsenal of over 30 weapons and choosing from a range of unique roguelite additions and perks along the way.

Deadzone: Rogue has come a long way since its early access launch in April 2025. Over the past 11 months, Deadzone: Rogue has added a single player offline mode, new missions, new enemies, new weapons and new perks. A plethora of patches and other minor updates have also been released since then Dead zones early access debut, improves stability and performance, and fine-tunes game systems based on player feedback. Dead zone officially left early access in August 2025 and in September 2025, Deadzone: Rogue came to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, bringing the ability for friends to play with each other across the three platforms.

On March 3, Prophecy Games announced that Deadzone: Rogue would be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on March 17, 2026. Much like its PS5 and Xbox Series X/S counterparts, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Deadzone: Rogue is expected to have full crossplay functionality, although cross-progression between the platforms is unlikely to be available. This Switch 2 version also comes with Joy-Con 2 mouse functionality.

Following the announcement during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, pre-orders for Deadzone: Rogue went live on the Nintendo eShop. A digital copy of Dead zone currently costs $19.99 in the eShop, reduced from the retail price of $24.99 in a presale that will end on March 30. A Deluxe Edition of Dead zone can also be pre-ordered for $35.99, reduced from $44.99. This more expensive version of the game gives players two unique cosmetic packs that offer new weapon skins, body suits, helmet designs and ship customization parts. Pre-order either version of the Deadzone: Rogue on the Nintendo Switch 2, allowing players to instantly load the 8.5GB game onto their console ahead of the March 17 launch date.

Despite releasing its 1.0 version as early as August 2025, Deadzone: Rogue does not yet have an official aggregate score on OpenCritic or Metacritic. That said, several critic reviews are on Dead zones OpenCritic page, most of which give the shooter at least 8/10, with many praising the game's addictive roguelite elements, its tight gunplay, and its dynamic co-op action. Over on Steam, Deadzone: Rogue currently has a “Highly Positive” rating based on 13,478 user reviews. Many of these reviews are also laudatory Dead zones gunplay, its build variety and its meta-progression, although some reviews criticize the game's lack of replayability due to limited mission types.
