How to get bird food in Heartopia
Bird food is directly linked to the hobby Birdwatching and a specific quest chain involving Bailey J. Before bird food even becomes an option, players must unlock the birdwatching hobby. This happens when you reach Developer level 6then you get a Hobby Expansion Ticket. By using this Bird Watching ticket you can learn the hobby from Bailey J.
If you used your expansion ticket on another hobby first, you will have to wait until you get another ticket via DG progression.
Once unlocked, Bird Watching gives you access to the bird scanner, which works similarly to a photography tool. By scanning birds from a distance and timing actions such as chirping or foraging correctly, you earn higher quality bird information cards. These cards quickly pile up in your inventory.
After reaching Bird watching level 2 earning 200 skill points unlocks the ability to submit info cards instead of selling them.
How to change info cards in Heartopia
Bird food cannot be purchased with coins and is not sold by any vendor. The only way you can get bird food is by exchanging information cards with Bailey J.
To get bird food, talk to Baley J and select the dialog option “Submit Info Card”. You can then choose one of your bird information cards and send it in. You can only submit 5 info cards per day, so consistency is key.
However, this is one gacha style trading. When you hand over a card, the reward is randomized. Some days you can get repair kits or crafting materials instead, while other days you can finally get the bird food you've been waiting for.
Once you reach level 4, you can unlock “Burst Mode”, which allows you to get extra info cards from a single photo, giving you more to trade with Bailey J.
How to use bird food in Heartopia
Once you get bird food, you can use it to attract birds Heartopia to stand for photo opportunities. In addition to this, you can use bird food at the troughs to increase your bond level with the birds.
