Invest in Demon Summons, regardless of build

The Warlock has three different skill trees for players to invest in: Chaos, Eldritch, and Demon, and while each can be the foundation of a solid build, all Diablo 2 Warlock builds will want to put the bare minimum of skill points into the demon tree. Demon summons are incredibly powerful i Diablo 2: Resurrectedeven if they are not the primary focus of the building. Summon Goatman can be useful in the early game to take some of the heat off the player while they're still leveling, but being able to consume the summoned Goatman in the late game is important because it gives increased damage basically for free. This makes summoning and consuming demons crucial even for more physically oriented Warlock builds.

Two-handed weapons are the Warlock's best friend

Another unique feature of the Warlock is its inherent passive ability to levitate its weapon, allowing the class to wield two-handed weapons with one hand. This means players can use two-handed weapons like axes, swords, and polearms while still having a slot free for a shield or grimoire, which is a new off-hand weapon exclusive to the Warlock. With skill points invested in Levitation Mastery, there's really no reason for the Warlock not to wield a two-handed weapon and reap the benefits of the class's weapon-enchanting skills like Echoing Strike and Mirrored Blades.

Diablo 2: Resurrected Warlocks will still need to have enough strength to use two-handed weapons, so players may want to invest in increasing that stat early on.

Bind Hephasto the Armorer as soon as possible

Warlock players should invest the minimum skill points required to unlock Bind Demon at level 31 so they can tame almost any demon in the game. Hephasto the Armorer in particular is almost always the ideal demon to bind thanks to the universally useful buffs he provides. Although players won't be able to get Hephasto until they reach Diablo 2: Resurrected Act 4 and gain access to Hellforge, taming this demon grants the Warlock the Aura he plays with, meaning players can gain something like Fanatism Aura to increase their damage, attack speed, and attack rating.

Avoid going all-in on magic or physical skills

Diablo 2: Resurrected's Warlock has the luxury of excelling in both magical and physical skills, making it a versatile class for players of all skill levels. However, it is in Warlock's best interest to avoid going all-in on just one of these two damage types, as players may run into issues against Diablo 2 enemies that resist fire or magical damage. As such, most Diablo 2: Resurrected Warlock builds include investing in physical skills like Mirrored Blades, along with a skill like Hex: Bane to enchant it and add magical damage as well.
