Kaido began his pirate journey at a very young age and later became one of the prominent members of the Rocks Pirates. His goal in life was to die fighting, but when he was young he wanted a devil fruit, which is shown several times where he said he wanted a devil fruit for himself. This opportunity soon came during the God Valley Incident, where Big Mom took a Devil Fruit to give to her son, Katakuri. But Kaido has other plans, as he ambushed Big Mom and took the Devil Fruit. He consumed it, thus obtaining one of the most powerful Mythical Devil Fruits in existence. This fruit gave him the ability to transform into a dragon which gives him tremendous defensive abilities.

Luffy became the reincarnation of the sun god Nika, and on the other hand, Yamato became the guardian of Wano Country itself, showing how strong Yamato's determination really was. Luffy's Devil Fruit gives him the ability of elasticity, and by awakening it, he can turn his surroundings into rubber, making him extremely difficult to deal with. Yamato revealed his Devil Fruit during their fight with Kaido.

It allows Yamato to transform into a human-divine wolf, and it increased their power so much that they could face off against Kaido. Both were absolute monsters in Wano, capable of standing up to the strongest in the world. Also, both have huge potential to grow even more as the story of One Piece continues. In the Final Saga, Oda will show them growing even more in powers and fans can't wait to see it.
