Sony shut down its last PlayStation State of Play event to shadow a brand new one God of war game as well as confirming the long rumored Greek Trilogy Remake. God of war is one of Sony's biggest franchises of all time, so it's no surprise that it was featured as the final announcement at State of Play in February 2026.

Santa Monica Studio has posted some incredible news God of war the match after the other. The original games are loved for their intense action and epic moments, while the newer titles are celebrated for their emotional storytelling and brutal over-the-shoulder brawls. God of War Greek Trilogy & Sons of Sparta officially announced

As announced at the PlayStation State of Play event in February 2026, God of War: Sons of Sparta the shadow falls today and Santa Monica Studio has also officially started development on a remake of it God of war Greek Trilogy. These projects were confirmed by TC Carson, who was the original voice actor for Kratos before being replaced by Christopher Judge in the 2018 game and God of War Ragnarok. The God of war The Greek Trilogy remake is still very early in development, so we didn't learn much about what direction it will take. It's possible that all three games will get remakes one at a time, but it's also possible that the story will be condensed into one big game. It could be that the games keep their classic gameplay, but with updated graphics, but one has to imagine converting the original trilogy to an over the shoulder style like the 2018 games and Ragnarök at least considered.

war god sons of sparta announcement

Sons of Sparta is the official title of the long-rumored God of war 2D action platform game. It shows a child Kratos training alongside his brother Deimos, and showcases one of Kratos' earliest adventures. Kratos will primarily use his spear and shield throughout the game, but he will also acquire special artifacts to aid in his journey as well. Developed by Mega Cat Studios, the game has a pixel art style that makes it look like a 16-bit game, which may prove controversial, but it's still an interesting take on the series. What might also leave people scratching their heads is its T for Teen rating, given how violent most of the games in the franchise are, but that could just be because the art style effectively tones everything down.
