With the price of good gear steadily increasing as you level up, it's no surprise that a healthy supply of gold can be crucial during your Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined playback. But thankfully, there are a few ways you can go about earning it, beyond just the usual amount of gold you earn from playing through the story normally.
For the most part, this will involve fighting tons of monsters or participating in mini-games, but if you're really desperate to earn some extra cash, there are a few settings and even an accessory you can equip to increase the rate at which you earn gold. If you're hoping for 100 percent of the game, you'll need to use at least one of these methods to unlock all items and get the gold achievement.
Loot and sell
In almost all games, one of the most common ways to earn extra money is by selling things you no longer need. As you play through DQ7 Reimagined, you'll regularly find pots, barrels, wardrobes, sparks, and chests scattered throughout each region. Each of these items usually contains something that you can collect, which you can then use in battle or sell for gold.
Even if you have no reason to enter a specific room or building for story purposes, you should explore every inch of every region for prey, and you might even stumble upon Tablet Fragments while you're at it. Make sure to do that open things like chests and wardrobes and destroy any dishes and pots you find lying around.
Most consumables don't give you much gold, but if you find yourself with an absurd inventory, it can stack up. As said, don't get rid of something you regularly use in battle, or something that is a rare find. The game will also usually warn you if you're about to sell something that you may have no chance of finding again.
With that in mind, the majority of your loot sales should come from old gear. While you may not necessarily sell the item you just looted from a chest, you can sell the item you just replaced. Ideally you should try to revisit the local vendor when you finish a region so you can offload old gear and get some gold ready for the next region.
Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined: How to unlock chests

Play Lucky Panel
In keeping with the idea of selling things, there is actually a way to farm equipment to sell, some of which can go for a pretty penny. Once you've unlocked the Alltrades Abbey region, you'll gain access to several new things to do, including the Battle Arena and Lucky Panel. Lucky Panel is a mini-game that can be found in a Tavern in Pilgrim's Perditionand can be a great way to earn some significant prizes.
The idea of the game is simple: you will be shown several cards which will then be flipped and moved around so you can try to find all the matches. If you complete the puzzle, you have the option to advance to the next difficulty level, where the items you just won will be exchanged for a chance at better items. You'll only be allowed so many mistakes per puzzle, but they do pass.
Once you start reaching higher levels, things will get tricky, so you may need to implement some cheats to continue your winning streak. The easiest way to do this is to record the cards before you turn them over and keep recording until it's time for you to guess. You can do this with your phone, which is probably the easiest, or by using your platform's built-in recording software.
There are a few trophies attached to the Lucky Panel gameso even if you don't choose this method of farming gold, it might be worth doing at least once to unlock the associated trophies/achievements.
When you're done recording, just use the video to pick all the right cards and then keep doing this for each level until you've won some incredible prizes that you can then sellor use to replace your old equipment, so you can sell it. You will be limited to how much you can play in a single day, however sleeping restores the turnsso just go to the nearby inn, rest and continue.
Fight against enemies
As for farming methods, the last and most likely the most beneficial way to earn gold is by fighting. Each region will have at least one dungeon full of monsters, both past and present, where you can farm battles. You can do this in the overworld as well, but it can be more tedious since you don't have quick access to an angel statuewhile most dungeons have some of them throughout.
If you're still early in the game, your options will be a bit more limited in terms of which enemies to try to track down, but if you're in the late game, Gem Slimes will be your best source. You can find these in some dungeons that you come back to towards the end of the game, though the easiest place to find them is Burnmont, after you fight the Demon King.
Like I said, it one thing you want to remember with this method is that you will also gain EXP by fighting enemies. This isn't much of a problem if you wait until late game, but if you're constantly fighting enemies to earn gold early, then you might be survived for story-related content. This isn't exactly a problem, but it can prevent you from enjoying the game as intended.
Adjust your settings
Moving away from additional things that you can intentionally do in the game, there are actually a couple of ways to adjust how much gold you'll earn when you play the game as you normally would.
Not everyone will be willing to adapt these methods, but for those of you who don't want to pan for gold or just want to speed things up, there is a setting you can adjust to increase the amount of gold earned from battles.
To access this, open your menu and go to settings. Under “Difficulty” you will see an option for “Gold Earned”, which you can switch to the “More” option. This will increase the amount of gold earned when fighting enemies, helping you build your wealth a little faster.
There is an achievement/trophy associated with earning over 300,000 gold in the gameso it might be worth activating this for a while just to unlock that achievement. You can check your progress at any time by referring to the Info tab in the main menu for an overview of your statistics.
This setting can be changed at any timeso if you find you don't like the extra boost you can turn it off. In addition, if you are grinding battles and are worried about the EXP gain, you can adjust a setting here as well so you temporarily gain less experience from battles so that you will not be as survived, if you would.
Equip Gold Golem Heart
The last thing you can do will unfortunately require you to spend some actual money to increase your pockets in the game. Along with the release of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, you can also get Jam-Packed Swag Bag DLC. The Jam-Packed Swag Bag is a small DLC that can be purchased for a couple of dollars and contains some handy items to use throughout the game.
It doesn't contain any additional content, but one of the things it does contain are some monster hearts, one of which is Gold Golem Heart. You can find the traditional Golem Heart item in the game, but this gold variant is specifically exclusive to this DLC. When equipped, it will increase the amount of gold earned from battles by 50 percent.
This alone is already an incredible boost, though combined with other setting tweaks and farming methods, you should be swimming in gold in no time. That said, this is the only thing on this list that technically can't be accessed without buying additional content, so whether it's worth the extra money will be entirely up to you, as you can still earn a lot of gold without it.
