Nioh 3 adds a new exploration system to the game that marks all collectibles on the map as players explore more of that region. This exploration system highlights a lot of things, but not the boss encounters. One of the secret boss encounters in the game is Bloodedge Demon. Players can summon this boss, but must complete a few steps first.
The Bloodedge Demon is easily the hardest early game boss in the game, so it's ideal not to face it until the player has fully explored the rest of the map and has enough levels and experience in all kinds of fighting styles. Here's how to summon this formidable foe Nioh 3 actually works.
Nioh 3: How to Open Nurikabe Walls
Tired of fighting Nurikabe walls in Nioh 3? Don't worry, because there is another way to open these.
How to summon and find Bloodedge Demon in Nioh 3
To summon the Bloodedge Demon, you must first find any Revenant Grave and fight it. After defeating the revenant, it will leave malice which is in the form of small red orbs flying up into the air. You have to follow the direction these orbs go, and an arrow will also appear on the map.
These tombs are a great way to farm Ochoko Cups, which you need to summon a friendly NPC for challenging boss encounters.
Now your job is to keep finding more Revenant Graves in the direction of the arrows. If you go too far out and the arrow points behind you, it means you need to go to the middle of them.
When you reach the area where the Bloodedge Demon is, there will be many Revenant Graves around it and one large purple grave which says: “All Revenants defeated so far defeated evil are gathering.” The Bloodedge Demon appears in various places over time, so you will encounter these several times in the game if you were to try to find it.
How to beat Bloodedge Demon in Nioh 3
Since it is one of the most challenging fights early in the game, the recommended level for this fight is 40+. Even with the high level, there is still one attack that can 100 to 0 you, which is the slash. The boss will lean back and use all of its hands to knock down the weapons it carries. Avoiding this attack can be risky, so try to either block or deflect with Samurai Style. All of the boss's attacks are easy to block and don't deal a lot of damageso it's ideal to stick with that style for this fight.
The Bloodedge Demon can use lightning and water attacks with its katanas, and these can deal status damage and leave you vulnerable to a follow-up attack from the boss. Try to keep a medium distance from the boss so you can easily react to any attack while dealing damage yourself.
You can also use Ninjutsu, which Fire Shuriken and Caltrops, to keep the boss at bay.
Once the boss is defeated you will get quite a few rare items and possibly the boss's Soul Core which you can use in future battles.
