Baldur's Gate 3's largest custom campaign needs more help

It's been over two years, and people still can't get enough of Baldur's Gate 3. From multiple playthroughs to find every bit of content to mods that bring back the cut content from early access, fans are pulling out all the stops to get more BG3. Some dedicated fans have taken things to another level with the Path to Menzoberranzan custom campaign.

Perhaps the largest Baldur's Gate 3 fan project in development, recreating iconic locations from the Baldur's Gate series. It has grown exponentially since it was first announced, with over 100 developers working on it as of last year, and more content than originally promised. With an alpha set to release this year, it looks like the project is now looking for even more developers.

The road to Menzoberranzan will be huge

At the end of last month, the project was looking for voice actors, and now it's looking for developers in ten different departments. As discovered by PC Guide, the Path to Menzoberranzan project has posted several openings on its official Discord channel. They are looking for everything from artists and animators to HR and PR representatives.

“Hello creatures of Menzoberranzan! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and are heading towards a great 2026! At this stage of development we are looking to expand our team across many departments,” the post read. It listed ten different departments, i.a art, sound, design, HR, story, production, PR, QA, programmers and user experience.

Adding more lines for Wyll – and making sure they play correctly – should have been the focus of a Baldur's Gate 3 patch.

Based on that, the project needs more contributors in almost every possible department, so feel free to check it out if you have video game development experience. It's a Patreon funded project though, so you'll be working on it for your love of video games rather than getting paid.

In their latest update, the team revealed some of the characters we'll see when the project finally launches. They revealed “a Drow priest from Eilistraee, a fierce human, a man who resembles Frankenstein's monster, and more!”
