This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf Arc.
The Straw Hat Grand Fleet is one of the most powerful forces on the seas One Piece world. Having been established fairly recently, The Straw Hat Grand Fleet has grown enormously in power and influence and will continue to grow until one day, when they will cause a great incident on the seas, as pointed out by Oda himself. Although the fleet is quite powerful, fans know that there is room for them to grow even stronger.
Say hello to the new legendary Devil Fruit User Of The Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece
The Straw Hat Pirates are strong, and a new member has a legendary Devil Fruit in One Piece.
At the moment, the Straw Hat Grand Fleet has seven Grand Commanders, but they will soon be joined by an even bigger disaster that will take their overall powers to the next level. This final commander could be none other than Prince Loki of Elbaf.
The Straw Hat Grand Fleet slowly grows in the final saga
-
Established in Dressrosa
-
Has steadily increased in strength since then
The Straw Hat Grand Fleet has been referenced here and there in the Final Saga, but fans haven't seen them play an active role in the story yet. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, because Oda already highlighted after the events in Dressrosa what fate has in store for them.
These captains would each grow in their own way and one day cause a major incident at sea of enormous proportions. But right now, that day is still a long way off. — Narrator on the Grand Fleet
For those who don't remember, The Straw Hat Grand Fleet was formed at the end of the Dressrosa arc, where seven powerful captains pledged their loyalty to Luffy by exchanging Sake Cups. From this day forward, they became the loyal servants of Monkey D. Luffy, and it goes without saying that their oath is for life. The Straw Hat Grand Fleet has not been seen in the story much since then, but Oda clearly emphasized at the end of the Dressrosa arc that this fleet would continue to grow in strength and make a great name for themselves until a certain day, when they would cause a major incident of massive proportions.
This day hasn't come yet, so it's safe to say The Straw Hat Grand Fleet is still growing with each passing chapteralthough fans do not actively follow their progress at sea. They will soon be called into action, and when they do, fans will see their true strength as a military force.
Loki may very soon join the great fleet as a commander
-
Loki is reluctant to join the Straw Hats for now
-
He will want to follow Luffy
At the moment, the Straw Hat Grand Fleet has seven powerful captains, and they include:
-
Cavendish
-
Bartholomew
-
Don Sai
-
Leo
-
Idea
-
Orlumbus
-
Hajrudin
It goes without saying that all of these pirates are powerful in their own way, but they are by no means the elite of the seas. As such, The Straw Hat Grand Fleet really needs powerful additionsand this is where Loki can come in.
Until now, Loki was chained in Elbaf, and he could not sail the sea One Piece like he used to before fighting Shanks. Now, however, he is truly free, and once he can save his home from the threat of Imu and the demon army, Loki will have two options before him.
I am the sun god inscribed in the legends of this land. You will not talk to me without permission, human. I consider myself the strongest living in the lands. This is the land of war, the violent kingdom of Elbaf. The most powerful nation in the world that once lived and breathed warfare. And I am the sun god who brings the world to an end, Loki! — Loki presents himself in the Elbafbågen.
The first option for Loki would be to simply join the Straw Hat Pirates as the last member. This is a very popular idea, especially since Luffy himself has invited Loki to join the crew. If Oda, for some reason, chooses not to go this route, then the best thing for Loki to do is to become a member of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.
One Piece: Oda reveals two new potential Straw Hats stronger than both Zoro and Sanji
Zoro and Sanji are strong, but they are not as strong as these two new potential Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece.
Hajrudin, his half-brother, is already part of the Grand Fleetand it would make perfect sense for Loki to join it as well, thus allying Elbaf with the Straw Hats once and for all.
Loki would become the strongest member of the Grand Fleet

Loki is above Yonko level
If Loki were to join the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, it goes without saying that he would easily be the strongest member. Loki's strength is such that it rivals and actually surpasses the Yonko of the One Piece world. In fact, Big Mom fully believed that if the marriage to Loki had gone through, she would have destroyed even the likes of Whitebeard and Shanks and become the Pirate King. This makes perfect sense when you take a look at the ability that Loki holds up his sleeve. He was able to kill King Harald, and he uses the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf along with the mighty Warhammer Ragnir. With these powers, Loki can even be above the level of the Yonko of the One Piece world, and that's really a huge boost for any crew.
Loki himself would not want to stay in Elbaf either. In fact, he wants to avenge his father after he met a miserable end at the hands of Imu and the World Government. Loki wants to follow in the footsteps of Rocks and Nika and bring about the destruction of the current world order. He can't do that if he hides in Elbaf.
Loki's goal requires him to actively sail the seaand it's perfect if he becomes commander of the Straw Fatted Grand Fleet. Fans absolutely cannot wait to see Loki become an integral part of the story's final saga, and Oda is sure to elevate his character to a whole new level soon enough.
Whether Loki joins the Straw Hats as their last member or as the last commander of the Straw Hats' vast fleet doesn't matter. What really matters is that Luffy will gain a monstrously powerful ally in Loki, and his overall influence on the seas will be even greater.
The Straw Hats would be unbeatable
If it wasn't already clear, with Loki joining, the Straw Hats are officially an undefeated force in the One Piece world. Even the likes of the Navy will struggle to deal with them, given their sheer power. The Straw Hats themselves have Luffy, Zoro and Sanji, all three of whom can fight against the elite of the One Piece world. Considering the other members, along with the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, it really shows that their total power is beyond anyone's imagination. Luffy and his crew are sure to get very close to One Piece soon and establish themselves as the most powerful force on the sea. All fans have to do is sit back patiently and wait for them to reach their full potential.
