Here's a quick rundown of what each ability does and how to get real value out of them.
Ice wall
Quay Tactical ability, Ice wallcreates one ice barrier that blocks movement and line of sight. This is the basis of his kit and the tool you will use most often. Ice Wall can be placed to seal off choke points, protect teammates while they heal, or give your team temporary protection in open areas.
The strongest use of Ice Wall is reactive placement. Let it go in that moment enemy push begins. Even a short delay can give your team enough time to reload or focus fire. It is also effective for splitting enemy teams by cutting off back line players from their front line. On offense, Ice Wall can be used to create safe angles to peek from or block defenders who have long lines of sight.
Since walls can be destroyed, avoid placing them casually. Treat each use as a meaningful undertaking and try to place walls where enemies are forced to expose themselves if they want to break through.
Frozen repair
Quay Passive ability, Frozen repair, restores broken walls in your base. This gives Kai value in longer matches, especially in defensive scenarios.
Get used to it check damaged sections of your base when there is downtime between matches. Keeping walls repaired maintains safe reserve positions and prevents enemies from snowballing after a successful push.
Frost giant
Quay Ultimate ability, Frost giantturns him into a large, tanky ice demonRhyme. In this form, Kai becomes one frontline threats that can cause major damage and soak up enemy damage.
Frost Giant is the best used to swing speed of a big fight. Turns it on start of a coordinated push lets you lead the charge and divert attention from your poor, smarter teammates. It can also be used defensively to stop an enemy's advance by forcing opponents to either retreat or commit everything to bring you down.
Don't waste Frost Giant on small fights unless you're securing an important objective. Its value comes from forcing big reactions and creating space for your team.

Tips for playing Kai
Kai performs best when he plays close to his team. You are not a lone duelist. Your walls, repairs and everything work best when teammates are positioned to take advantage of the space you create.
Consider the terrain at all times. Look for places and corners where the Ice Wall gives maximum effect. Placing walls in wide open areas can still help, but choke points multiply their effectiveness.
Be patient with your ultimate. SAving Frost Giant for moments that really matter will lead to more profits than using it as soon as it becomes available. Watch enemy cooldowns and wait for an opportunity where your transformation will be hard to counter.
