Players will control four playable characters in Final Fantasy 7 Remakeeach of which has access to six weapons. Weapons can be upgraded by spending skill points (SP) to provide passive boosts, unlock additional material slots, and increase base stats. Players can also use special abilities when specific weapons are equipped, which can be permanently learned if players gain enough skills. By far the fastest member of the party, Tifa is a martial artist who specializes in hand-to-hand combat.
Using Unbridled Strength while in control of Tifa will increase her Chi level, a mechanic unique to Tifa that allows her to unleash more powerful combo attacks. By default, she'll enter battles at Chi level one, but if players unlock the Concentration feat in her weapon upgrades, there's a chance she'll start at level two. There are three levels in total, indicated by the names of her fighting techniques: Whirling Uppercut (level one), Omnistrike (level two), and Rise and Fall (level three).
