9 Strongest My Hero Academia Characters (Right Now)

Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia is home to some of the most powerful anime characters of all time. From Izuku Midoriya to Katsuki Bakugo, the strongest characters in MHA gained unique quirks or abilities that set them apart as true forces to be reckoned with in the world of heroes.

With the conclusion of MHA Season 8, the ranking of the strongest characters has been reshuffled. In the absence of Shigaraki and All For One, new and familiar faces have been recognized by fans due to their phenomenal display of power. Let's get to know each of them.

My Hero Academia has ended, but Horikoshi has already revealed his replacement

My Hero Academia: Horikoshi officially reveals the alternate ending of the story

MHA almost ended very depressingly, as Horikoshi just revealed to fans.

Katsuki Bakugo

From the beginning, Katsuki showed Bakugo how powerful he was. He was very consistent in proving himself, growing stronger with each battle, turning his fierce temper into a weapon that fuels his unstoppable drive to become the number one hero and surpass not only Deku but All Might as well.

Currently, Bakugo is in complete control of his explosive quirk. His performance in the final battle against the villains resonated deeply with the public, having managed to reduce All For One to nothing, even after his near-death experience.

Too bad, because Bakugo won't be climbing from his position in the hero ranks anytime soon due to his bad behavior and rude mouth. Still, that doesn't make him any less of a hero, as his courage, determination, and overall strength continue to inspire those around him.

Izuku Midoriya

Losing One For All did not stop Izuku Midoriya from contributing greatly to the hero community. He became a teacher at UA and supported his students by imparting the lessons he learned in and out of combat. He is well respected in his field, despite having lost the power that once made him the savior of the world.

However, it didn't take long for All Might and the rest of Class 1-A to pull Deku back onto the battlefield, leading to his inclusion in the final hero rankings. He gained an armored color that was much stronger than All Might's, allowing Deku to use artificial OFA traits. It's almost as if the OFA didn't leave Deku's body at all, as he retained his expertise in using these abilities.

Shoto Todoroki

Our air-conditioning hero, Shoto Todoroki, has earned a spot on this list with his half-cold, half-hot quirk that caused great damage not only to Dabi, but to the many heroes and villains he bested in MHA. He was able to use his quirk to maximum effect, combining his mother's ice and father's hell to overwhelm even the mightiest of enemies.

Now Todoroki is making a name for himself in the hero ranks. He is one of the most popular heroes, despite his awkwardness in public. He remains a key player in the hero world, respected for his abilities, strength and service.

Mirio Togata

Before Deku appeared as All Might's successor, it was Lemillion's turn for One For All. His piercing quirk makes him almost untouchable, making him overpowered. Besides that, he possesses the right hero qualities to become the new owner of OFA, from his unbreakable will to his selflessness. In other words, he had the makings to become a symbol of peace.

Years after All Might stepped down from the rankings, Lemillion stands as the number one hero. Everyone loves him, even though he can be funny and creepy at the same time. He dreams of saving a million people, and there is nothing that would stop him from doing so.

Fumikage Tokoyami

Like Bakugo, Fumikage Tokoyami was a very capable hero from start to finish. He showed immense potential throughout the series, being able to master his quirk and ultimate moves even under pressure. Unfortunately, he's not high on the hero list, contrary to expectations, but that's mostly because he tends to only work at night.

During the final war arc, Tokoyami was an absolute force of nature, so much so that All For One almost stole his dark shadow quirk. AFO wanted the quirk for himself due to its destructive power, but Tokoyami held out until the end.

Mirko

At first glance, Mirko looks like a cyborg due to the number of her prosthetics. It's a miracle that she can still fight with so much power in her current state, proving that even injuries won't stop her from fighting and protecting the world.

As fans know, Mirko's Rabbit quirk gives her superhuman abilities, from leg strength, increased speed and stamina, to acrobatics, making her a heavy hitter yet versatile hero. As long as there is fire in her heart to protect people, she will not stop fighting.

Ochako Uraraka

From a gentle hero to a battle-hardened fighter, Ochako Uraraka's power development in My Hero Academia is one of the best. Her quirk, Zero Gravity, has helped so much in the heroes' final push against the villains in MHA Season 7. Not only did she single-handedly stop Himiko Toga's Sad Man Parade, but she also protected several heroes and civilians under extreme duress.

Years later, Uraraka continues to do more heroic deeds, not only by fighting villains but also by improving property education across the country. She has come a long way, making her a true embodiment of what it means to be a hero. Plus, she's the perfect fit for Deku!

Tamaki Amajiki

Our shy hero, Tamaki Amajiki, may be outside the top 10 of the hero list, but that doesn't change the fact that he is one of the strongest. He has the potential to surpass other heroes in the rankings, but his low self-esteem limits his growth, which is why he remains Fatgum's assistant to this day.

Still, Tamaki's quirk, Manifest, is something to watch out for. It allows him to conjure physical manifestations of anything he eats, from growing massive tentacles to creating solid structures for defense. In the fight against Shigaraki, he even conjured a plasma cannon that set off a devastating explosion.

Neito Monoma

Neito Monoma gained respect from MHA fans for his phenomenal display of power and mental resolve in the Final War arc, after copying Eraserhead's quirk to prevent Tomura Shigaraki from using any of his quirks, including Decay. Without him, it would have been disastrous for Mirko and the Big Three of the UA to fight and fight Shigaraki on their own.

Currently, Monoma has been making waves in the hero world. He finally got the attention he deserves, and it seems likely that he will surpass others in the future. At the moment, he is the number 10 hero, and it is fair to say that he deserves it.
