Steam has always been a treasure trove of free games, but now more than ever it seems the storefront is dedicated to providing free games to PC gamers. In recent weeks and months, we've seen free Steam games like Everyday devilInitial Drift Online, Dreadmystand more, while the Epic Games Store also continues to release free games every week. This week is especially good for PC gamers, as there are a total of four free games that they can currently pick up until January 22nd.
Namely, Steam users can claim both Crown of Champions: Legends of the Arena and Battle Simulator: Counter Stickman. The contest is giving away a couple of games, Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness. It's a great way to get into the franchise, for free, before release Styx: Blades of Greed in February. Of course, the EGS free spins on January 22nd will be replaced by another free spin this week—Rustler: Grand Theft Horse.
Steam users have 2 free games they can claim for free until January 22nd
Steam's two free games for this week include two completely different games, which hopefully means at least one appeals to you. Battle Simulator: Counter Stickman is simple, yet effective, where players must simulate a battle between two sets of stick figures. There's cover and tactics to consider, but it's worth bearing in mind that it's a short and simple game on Steam. It only takes about an hour to beat, which means players can check out then as well Crown Champion: Legends of the Arena.
Instead of stick figures and weapons, Crown Champion: Legends of the Arena gives players a fantasy RPG management sim. It has more classic vibes, even at first glance, and deeper game systems than that Counter Stickman. In it, players must build an estate into an effective battle school and develop a reputation as they progress through 12 different arenas. Review-wise, it's worth mentioning Counter Stickman currently has mixed reviews on Steam, however Crown Master has very positive reviews.
Epic Games Store users have until January 22nd to claim 2 free games

Rustler: Grand Theft Horse (January 22-January 29)
When the two Styx games rotate out of the EGS weekly giveaway, they will be replaced by Rustler: Grand Theft Horse. It's also possible that EGS has a surprise waiting in the wings, though Rustling is quite an exciting game in itself. With a top-down perspective, Rustler: Grand Theft Horse is much as if Grand Theft Auto took place in a Dungeons and dragons campaign. Players can become murder hobos completing insane missions, killing would-be heroes, and otherwise committing a plethora of crimes, all set to fitting Bard music.
