Fans know that he is a successor to the powers of the Sage of the Six Paths and also the savior of the world who sealed away Kaguya Otsutsuki, along with the other members of Team 7. While Naruto was a legend who etched his name into history in his own story, in Borutothings have been somewhat different.

Naruto's journey has been quite a tumultuous one in Boruto, and he has lost some major powers. That said, Naruto has also gained some other abilities, and one of them is a recently improved version of Sage Mode. This Sage Mode is stronger than what he used before, and it really creates exciting possibilities for the future of the story.

When talking about Naruto's power in Boruto series, the biggest problem that comes up is the loss of Kurama. Quite easily, Naruto was the strongest shinobi at the beginning of the story, with Sasuke as his only rival. However, as the story progressed, both Naruto and Sasuke were handled horribly in the story, and in the end they both lost their greatest powers.

As for Naruto, fans know that he ended up losing the power of Kurama. This happened in the battle against Isshiki Otsutsuki and it was here that Naruto also got his last power-up. Essentially, Naruto's Six Paths Sage Mode was not enough to fight and defeat Isshiki. As such, Kurama made a gamble that cost him his life.
To defeat Isshiki, Kurama proposed the use of a new power called Baryon Mode, which could only be accessed by using their chakra as cores for a new form of energy, akin to nuclear fusion. Using this power, Naruto's own energy levels spiked so high that they dwarfed even Isshiki's, making him the strongest character in history after Shibai. Naruto was able to shave Isshiki's life before Baryon Mode ended, eventually paving the way for his defeat as well. But this also cost him a lot as Kurama died forever, and this left Naruto greatly weakened. Of course, Naruto needed new powers somehow after the loss of Kurama, and that's where his newly upgraded Sage Mode comes into play.

After Kurama's death, most fans assumed that Naruto was very weak, and they wouldn't be wrong, considering that no matter what he did, he would absolutely not be able to compete with others at Otsutsuki's level. Still, Naruto became stronger in his own way by upgrading the powers that he had before.

In the following arc, Naruto Uzumaki went into battle against Code, and this is where he unleashed his new version of Sage Mode. Harnessing this power, Naruto felt himself ready to face the threat of the enemy. Shikamaru was the one who pointed it out Naruto's skills in Sage Mode were not the same as Kurama's power. To this Naruto responded by saying that his Sage Mode was much better than ever now, and that with age and experience he had greatly improved this power.

Naruto's Sage Mode right now is much stronger than it was beforeand the improvements can be divided into different ways in which they have been improved:
Firstly, Naruto can now access Sage Mode instantlywhile he had to knead the chakra for a while before entering Sage Mode in the Ninja War. Now he can enter it immediately and use this power for a while before it wears off. This is already a huge upgrade as it puts him in a league of his own.
Secondly, Naruto's Sage Mode now lasts much longer in battlemeaning it doesn't run out as many times as it used to in the original Naruto series.
Thirdly, Naruto's total strength increase that he used to get from Sage Mode is now greater than before. Although he did not get to fight Code with Sage Mode, depriving fans of the opportunity to truly judge how strong his new Sage Mode was, it is clear that Naruto was confident that he could fight at a high level with this new power.
Theoretically speaking, Naruto's enhanced Sage Mode can give him unlimited reserves of chakra when used properlybecause he absorbs energy from the planet itself. By setting up his shadow clones effectively, as well as having an overall larger reserve of chakra, Naruto's enhanced Sage Mode could serve as a major power-up in the future. It will become even stronger if he trains it further.

It goes without saying that this newly improved Sage Mode is good for Naruto Uzumaki, and that it can serve as a decent power-up for him. But you absolutely cannot deny that it is not enough. Naruto must fight against Otsutsuki level enemies in the futureand if the Kurama buff 6 Paths Sage Mode wasn't enough to take them on in battle, a regular version of Sage Mode really won't do either.
For this reason, Naruto needs a new poweror the overall level of enemies must be lowered in the future of the story. Both possibilities are real, but it would be better for Naruto to get new powers, especially considering there is room for it.
For example, Naruto Uzumaki could easily get a new scientific ninja toolfor example, the prosthetic hand he tried briefly, which allowed him to absorb all forms of chakra. If Naruto gets this power, he would surely be on a whole new level.
In addition to this, Naruto was also able to access other abilities, such as the Wood Release Gekkei Genkaiand then polishing it up with his newly improved Sage Mode would prove to be an even greater power for him. Naruto could ALSO just seek out the other tailed beasts and re-establish his bond with them. In this case, combining this new power with Sage Mode would make him an even greater threat to future enemies.
No matter what direction the Boruto series takes, one thing fans absolutely cannot compromise on is Naruto's overall power level, which they believe should be high enough for him to become a respectable ninja in the world. Hopefully the Boruto writers won't forget his overall importance to the plot and take him to the next level.
