For months, leaks were rampant, suggesting that Leon would play a major role in Resident Evil Requiem. It became quite obvious that the protagonist of Resident Evil 2, 4 and 6 would appear, but Capcom refused to confirm the fact, including in an interview with ourselves.
Kennedy was finally revealed in grand fashion at the 2025 The Game Awards, where the game's developers revealed that the two characters, he and Grace Ashcroft, play so differently it's like “having two games”.
But while Leon is now officially locked in, questions remain about his foil, Ada Wong, and whether she will appear in Requiem, as one leaker has said: “You're setting yourself up for disappointment.”
Ada Wong fans may be in for 'disappointment' with Resident Evil Requiem
Wherever Leon goes, Ada is not far behind. The mercenary was hired to steal the G-Virus mutagen in Resident Evil 2, a sample of the “Las Plagas” parasite in Resident Evil 4, and investigate a national security advisor in Resident Evil 6. Each of Leon's main games. She Power however not featured in Resident Evil Requiem.
Resident Evil fans are convinced that Leon Kennedy is infected again in Requiem
We finally have Leon back, and already fans are preparing to say goodbye.
Dusk Golem, a Resident Evil leaker who spearheaded the Leon leaks among others, has dropped a hint that Ada will be absent.
They posted a promotional image from the game that showed two red bullets next to a gun, and asked their followers what they thought the bullets meant, and apparently many thought it represented Ada.
“People think it's Ada: You're setting yourself up for disappointment,” the Dusk Golem replied. “And I question why you think red orbs = Ada, Ada has never used red orbs before.”
It feels like a direct line between Ada and the Red Bullets, given that the character wears a red dress and red lipstick in a shade not too dissimilar to the ammo shown, but our resident leaker thinks this is purely coincidental. If Wong is absent from Requiem, it would be quite surprising, given how intertwined her and Kennedy's stories have become.
People who think it's Ada: You're setting yourself up for disappointment,
It won't be long until we actually find out what those red orbs mean. The image was posted as part of an advertisement for a Resident Evil showcase taking place on Thursday, January 15th. This is where we should find out a little more about their origins.
